Nicolas Hunziker Wishes A Happy New Year To Audi Fans

words: Bill, video: Nicolas Hunziker If you don't know Nicolas Hunziker, he's one of the finest automotive artist out there. Porsche AG has officially licensed his artwork and even displays one of his paintings in their museum in Stuttgart. Sit back and enjoy this time lapse video of his Sport Quattro...but don't get too comfortable as it's only 60 seconds long. [embed]https://youtu.be/i6Obglm2dqo[/embed]

Choice Gear: Blipshift with Audi Group B T-shirt Design

We'll admit it. We're suckers for a cool T-shirt design and this Group B rally design from Blipshift most certainly qualifies. The car shows Audi's short wheelbase S1 catching air in the 1,000 Lakes rally. Notably, 1,000 Lakes in Finland is very well known for its many, many jumps. The route is brutal on cars, sending them airborne and then crashing back down to the ground over, and over and over. It certainly makes for fantastic photography... and T-shirts. Worth reminding, this is Bl...

Find of the (future) Day: 2019 Hot Wheels Audi Sport quattro (1:64 Scale)

[photo: Hot Wheels Dream Team Instagram]  Instagram is great; it's one of my favorite social media platforms (here is where I put a commercial that we also have an Instagram account, AudiClubNA). Not only can you see the latest things your friends visited, ate, drove, you can find gems like this. Scrolling through last night, this diecast caught my eye (obviously). Hot Wheels Dream Team previewed this Sport quattro. From reading the replies, it looks to be released sometime in 2019 ...

Lotterer’s Daily: 1984 Sport quattro (via Petrolicious)

We doubt the André Lotterer needs an introduction amongst our readers. As one of Audi's top factory drivers during the Le Mans years and one of the trio of drivers who's win was immortalized in the Truth in 24 II documentary, he'd already made quite a name for himself. Lotterer took it to Toyota in Le Mans last weekend at the wheel of a Rebellion LMP1, and he also remains a force in Formula E this season too... though none of that is for Audi any longer. Even still, André is the real dea...

Find of the Day: NOS Minichamps 1:43 Audi Sport quattro Pike’s Peak

Today's Find of the Day goes out to the scale model collectors amongst us. Rare and out of production models tend to pull a serious premium on auction sites like Ebay, and that's if you can find them at all. Take for example the Minichamps' 1:43 iteration of Walter Röhrl's 1987 Audi Sport quattro Pike's Peak racer. Minichamps did a limited edition run (6687 units) back in 2006, complete with cool display box featuring a map of the Pike's Peak hillclimb. It seems at least one of those un...

Howden Haynes and His Sport quattro Daily Driver

words: Tim Enders, photos: Si Gray “Go.” With that one word early on in the 2008 documentary film “Truth in 24,” the world was introduced to race engineer Howden Haynes, one of the men behind the scenes of much of Audi’s domination in endurance racing with their legendary Le Mans prototype cars. “Go.” “Go.” “Go.” When we first see him on screen, Howden, better known as “H” to his friends, is obsessively clicking a stopwatch over and over, clipboard...

Sport quattro Barn Find Surfaces after 20 Years

words: George Achorn, photos: There are few terms quite so romantic in their allusion to automotive prosperity than the term barn find. Reality and the challenge of financing a full-on restoration of a vehicle be damned, most any car enthusiast would love to find that über rare auto tucked away in some shed. For most any Audi enthusiast, the idea of finding a Sport quattro very definitely qualifies. The Audi Sport quattro is most definitely a legendary icon in the lexicon of the ...

Ever After – An Audi Fairytale

words: Bill Cho, video: Audi Germany Correction: This video was originally released by Audi Spain - Bill For this Christmas season, Audi Germany released a new version of the Cinderella fairytale entitled Ever After. It's in German but the story is very familiar and the animation is fantastic. (Update: We found it in English). It starts with a young girl gazing out the window on Christmas Eve at bedtime. Her father tucks her in and reads her her favorite fairytale. As he tells the t...

Vintage T-Shirt Offering Grows for Audi Club North America

by: George Achorn When Audi Club North America launched its made-to-order TeePublic T-shirt store on Black Friday, we put the call out to chapters and members should they wish to contribute now-retired designs to the T-shirt archive project. First up to the plate is graphic artist Thompson Smith who was instrumental in event design for the North East Chapter. Over the weekend, Thompson sent over several designs for events taking place in 1997 and 1998. Each feature some of enthusiasts'...

Monterey Car Week: Bonham’s Quail Auction Preview

There are any number of auctions going on in Monterey during car week, each by well established auction houses. For Audi enthusiasts though, there was just one this year that couldn’t be missed and that was the Bonhams sale held on the grounds of The Quail country club. First and foremost, the Bonhams sale featured an array of Group B rally cars, primarily in road-going homologation form. Obviously, it was an Audi Sport quattro amongst that mix that drew our eye most directly. Tha...
