What?! My favorite Glacier Lakes Audi Club is a charity. Why?

Yes, Audi Club North America is an IRS recognized not-for-profit, charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Why is that?

It all started with a guy named Frank Beddor. Frank became fascinated with the benefits of the Audi quattro all wheel drive system. To help his friends and family understand these benefits, Frank bought a number of Audi Quattos and invited his family and friends to drive these cars at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR). Frank had so much fun having his friends and family experience the benefits of quattro, he decided to form a club and extend this learning to other quattro owners.

The “Quattro Club” started in Minnesota in 1983 and was called Audi Quattro Club USA. It grew across the country and more chapters were added. Our Minnesota group eventually became Audi Club North America – Glacier Lakes Chapter.

In 1996, the club became a not-for-profit organization with the purpose to enhance the Audi ownership experience through education, activities and events. A majority of which are driving events to teach students about the capabilities of their cars and to improve their skills to become better and safer drivers. We do this at low speed car control clinics, ice driving events during the winter and high performance driver education (HPDE) events at race tracks. We believe our commitment has helped create much safer drivers across the country.
