About

Founded in 1984, the Glacier Lakes Chapter was the home of Frank Beddor and is the charter member of the Audi Club North America (ACNA). Today, the chapter is comprised of more than 320 members in Minnesota and North Dakota. We serve ACNA members in Minnesota and North Dakota by providing opportunities for members to share their knowledge with each other at educational driving events, seasonal fun drives, social gatherings and more.

quattroberfest, our annual High Performance Driver’s Education (HPDE) event is held at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR). Our popular Car Control Clinics for Teens and Adults take place at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC). Winter finds us practicing our ice driving skills on Cynthia Lake south of the Twin Cities. In addition to on-track experiences, the chapter offers its members scenic driving tours in the region, technical learning opportunities, picnics, and other social gatherings designed to engage members and their families in all things Audi.

ACGL Instructors

ACGL has a great team of instructors who have a passion for driving and coaching drivers at any level – from new to well-experienced – how to become better, safer, more confident drivers.  They work with students in our Car Control Clinics (offered for both Teen and Adult drivers), Ice Driving Events and High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) events to build confidence and driving skills.  Instructors generously donate their time to ACGL as volunteers to help provide driver education to our community. In addition to working with members at clinic and event, Instructors also participate in continuing education to keep their skills current. We are very grateful for their time and dedication to this important mission.

Our HPDE Instructors are MSF Level 2 certified. Our Instructor Development curriculum, built and refined over the years, was submitted to the Motorsports Safety Foundation (MSF) and accepted for accreditation in 2019.  ACGL is a nationally certified provider of “Level 2” instructor development. That means that our Level 2 Instructor training is a hands-on, in-depth program that occurs at and on the track, includes classroom instruction and on-track mentoring rides, and puts HPDE Instructors in a position to become right-seat-qualified and MSF-Certified.

Motorsport Safety Foundation

ACGL has partnered with the Motorsport Safety Foundation (MSF), an organization fundamentally aligned to our values regarding safety and driver’s education. MSF is an education-focused, non-profit organization whose primary focus is standardizing education and safety guidelines for the non-racing driving community. MSF, in collaboration with leaders in the HPDE community, has created standards for the selection, training and certification of high-performance driving instructors.
