The Audi Club Glacier Lakes Board of Directors has determined it is in the best interest of the Club to cancel quattroberfest 2020.
This decision was difficult and one that we did not make quickly. COVID-19 poses significant challenges to providing the same level of quality we have proudly delivered in the last several years. From a health safety perspective, hurdles include: removing instructors from the student’s car and training on new teaching techniques, identifying safe practices for group meetings, employing electronic tools for no-contact transactions/ waivers/ tech inspect forms, ensuring personal santization products are available, partnering with food service vendors to understand and apply safety requirements, etc.
From a fiscal perspective, this is an expensive event to host. We rely on strong participation to help us break-even and in most “normal” years we realize a loss. At four weeks out, we simply did not have enough registrations to come anywhere close to supporting the cost of the event. The anticipated loss would have been significant to the Club. Ultimately, we aligned on cancellation to maintain the continued fiscal health of our chapter.
