The North Atlantic Audi Club offers many events throughout the year to our members and the general public.  While some of the events may vary year to year, there are some that have become a staple of the club.  These events happen every year, but the format or details will vary.

Winter Driving School (January and February)

Description of Winter Driving School – This is our first event of the year, and is a Driver Skill event.  If you would like to learn to control your car in slippery conditions, to handle every type of skid, including correcting understeer and oversteer, and to stop more quickly in snowy or icy conditions, then join the North Atlantic Audi Club for one (or both!)  schools. It’s a safe, low-speed event on a closed course with expert instruction in a fun atmosphere where there will be ample opportunity to socialize with like-minded enthusiasts.

This school is very much at your own pace, and everyone from novices to advanced drivers will learn a great deal and have a blast. For novices, we focus on recovering from skids, smoothness, vision, and improving consistency through practice. For advanced students who have mastered the basics, we will offer instruction in techniques such as handbrake turns, left foot braking, threshold braking, trailing throttle oversteer and mastering the “Scandinavian flick”. For everyone this is an excellent opportunity to learn car control skills that can make you a safer driver under all conditions and reduce lap times on the track or autocross course.

Coffee with the Club (January – May)

Our club members are the life blood of the club, and this year the Board of Directors is going to try something new. The board will host casual feedback events over the year where we invite members and non-members to come and chat with board members about the club and its events, and any other topic that strikes your fancy.

Club Secretary William Ellis will host the first two “coffee with the club” events at the 12 Market Place Drive Starbucks parking lot in Waltham from 7:30 to 9:30 AM on February 13th and April 10th.

Covered Bridge Tour (August)

Description of Covered Bridge Tour – Participants will be part of a road tour which will stop at a select number of bridges, including some which will require some walking to see.  At each bridge the group will learn about that bridge and it’s unique attributes and trivia which might earn you a prize at the end of the event.  Generally 10 or more bridges are visited and the route will travel on highways, side roads, country lanes and even unpaved roads.  It is a full day of travel and a stop for lunch will be part of the agenda.
