It's been awhile since we visited the guys at Cars.co.za. Last time, they dragged an RS 3 against a BMW M2. This time, they're pitting the RS 3's bigger brother against the M2's bigger brother.

We reported on Monday that an entry level R8 would be powered by a twin turbo V6 but now that rumor has been officially squashed by Audi. When asked by Road & Track about the future of the R8, an Audi spokesperson "unequivocally" told R&T that "there is no V6 planned for the R8."
When The Drive followed up to that with an email, an Audi spokesperson confirmed R&T's report. "We can confirm that there is no V-6 in the product plan an...

Audi enjoys teasing future product at the company's annual press conference, and the 2018 gathering was no exception. Buried between profit reports, factory highlights and other mundane issues comes more solid confirmation of the brand's second all-electric e-tron offering. And, unlike the e-tron shown in Geneva, this one will skip the more obvious crossover configuration and instead go low-slung and sporty that should be more appealing to car enthusiasts.

Autocar is reporting that Audi will introduce a turbocharged V6 powered entry level R8 to the lineup. This comes after news that the current R8 will have a face lift and there are no plans to replace it.
The V6 will be the same 2.9 liter twin turbocharged shared with the RS 4 Avant, RS 5, and the Porsche Panamera. Audi has mentioned that the V6 will come with different power options.

Back in December, we posted that the R8 may be dead in 2020 but it looks like she may not go down without a fight or at least a new look.
Autoblog is reporting a refreshed look for the R8. The large oval exhaust suggest that it may be a GT variant. Could this R8 GT be the swan song for the R8?
