We spent a beautiful Saturday in Carmel Valley at Cahoon Ranch, which is owned by fellow club member and host Jim Nix, with our first annual Audi Overlanding event. Overlanding is vehicle-based, on and off-road adventure travel, with a focus on self-reliance, resilience and enjoyment of the journey. The most appealing aspect of overlanding is that anyone can do it.
Club members spent a day of exploring multiple off-road trail drives, clay pigeon shooting and rifle range access with a shooting range specialist on hand and then had a picnic lunch, while others grilled their favorites on the BBQ. The club provided non-alcoholic beverages along with sweet and savory snacks.
Big thanks to Jim Nix, who hosted the event and our friends at Steven’s Creek Audi that provided a modified Q5 and 2 Q3s for guest rides on one of the three courses.
