Enhanced Teaser Photo of the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept

words: Bill, photos: Audi AG

Earlier today, Audi released a teaser of the upcoming Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept. We (and by we, I mean George) took that photo and pulled the shadows out of it to reveal more details.

Last year, Audi revealed the A6 e-tron concept and from what we can see in the enhanced photo, the Avant concept has the same nose, same greenhouse ahead of the B-pillar, and same wheels.

The A6 and A6 Avant e-tron concepts are PPE-based (Premium Platform Electric) and are expected to boast a range of more than 700 kilometers (434 miles) and the most powerful ones will do 0-60 in less than 4 seconds. That should put those who fear range anxiety to ease. Charging times will be shorter as the A6 e-tron concepts have a fast charging ability of 270 kW. The A6 e-tron concepts are about the same size as the current A6/A7 ICE models.

PPE is being co-developed by both Audi and Porsche – the Porsche Macan EV and the Q5 e-tron are being built on this platform with both expecting to debut this year. The A6 e-tron and presumably, the A6 Avant e-tron will then in turn be released.

I, for one, welcome our new electric Avant overlord.
