Volkswagen Group Brands Celebrate Anniversaries at Bremen Classic Motor Show

Wolfsburg, GERMANY – Four brands, four jubilees, one stand. At the start of the classic car season 2024, the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Volkswagen Classic, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Oldtimer and Audi Tradition Parts will present themselves from the 2nd to the 4th. February 2024 together at the Bremen Classic Motorshow in Hall 5. Under the motto “Travel through time together” automotive history can be experienced with very special anniversaries from their own collections.

In 1974, and thus around three months before the debut of the Golf, Volkswagen presented the Scirocco – a compact 2+2-seater coupe. Developed at Karmann in Osnabrück, the Scirocco was available for market launch with 1.1 liters of displacement and 50 hp, 1.5 liters and 70 hp as well as TS with 1.5 liters of displacement and 85 hp. In Bremen, the Autostadt shows two classics from the collection of the ZeitHaus with the “viper green” Scirocco GT of the first generation and a Scirocco II GT II (1992) in the color tornado red.

50 years of Volkswagen Golf
An icon turns 50! At the start of the anniversary year, the VW brand on the Weser shows a Golf I and the unique study EA 276 – the predecessor of the Golf from 1969 created in Wolfsburg.
It is an automotive revolution when Volkswagen presented the first Golf in 1974 and thus the successor of the legendary Beetle: with front-wheel drive (instead of rear engine), with a variable overall concept thanks to a large tailgate and foldable rear seat backrest. In addition, the straightforward design from the pen of Giorgetto Giugiaro contributed to the mof a new design language moved into VW, which also continued in its successors. The Golf quickly became a real “Volkswagen” because the first million had already been sold in 1976. To date, 37 million copies have been delivered. This makes the compact car the most successful European car, the best-selling VW of all time – and an icon.

45 years third generation Volkswagen Transporter
In 1979, the new Bulli and thus the successor of the T2 was presented. In Bremen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Oldtimer shows one of the very first Type 2 vans of the third generation (Bus L, 1979) as well as a T3 Microbus from South Africa (1994), where the last T3 only rolled off the production line in 2002 – despite the official end of production in Germany in 1990. Bremen and Hanoverian tradition, the Beck’s bus (1964) – also from the collection of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Classic Cars – connects with each other. Visitors will find the unique piece next to the stand of the 1. Käfer Club Wolfsburg e.V..

Audi RS 4 Avant: exclusive high-performance combination as an eye-catcher in Imola yellow
Audi Tradition Parts stages the first-generation Audi RS 4 Avant in Bremen. Since its introduction at the IAA 1999 and its market launch in 2000, this model has stood for the impressive combination of performance, sportiness and suitability for everyday use. The Audi RS 4 Avant was – after Audi had previously successfully launched the Avant RS2 in cooperation with Porsche – the first RS model that then quattro GmbH was responsible for. Not least for this reason, the sports car has a large fan base today. Visitors who are interested in the spare parts and accessories offers of the Four Rings are in the right place at Audi Tradition Parts (www.audi.de/tradition-parts) at the joint stand.

The Bremen Classic Motorshow has been the first major classic fair at the beginning of the year since 2003. For the start of the season, more than 46,000 guests will be found from the 2nd to the 4th February on over 52,000 square meters of exhibition space in eight halls everything about classic cars.
