You may or may not know this but the 1st generation Spyker C8s are powered bu Audi's 4.2L V8. It's not the high-revving one found in the RS 4 but rather the V8 found in the B6/7 S4. OK...I can already hear the question being asked: Why the heck is Audi Club North America featuring a RUF as a Find of the Day? It's not a bad question...I asked the same when it was sent to me. We've featured vehicles that were powered by Audi engines but clearly this isn't one. So why? A couple of reasons why:
It's a cool car (but that's not enough)
It ran Pike's Peak (also cool but...)
It sports stick...
Early listings of lots for Amelia Island Concours week have revealed that RM Sotheby's will list a 1936 Horch Special Roadster Recreation. Few other details are provided by RM Sotheby's at this time and we expect more to be forthcoming as the March 9 event date nears, but the rareness of Horch specimens in the USA suggests we may know some of the story already.
