Happy quattro de Mayo!

Some people may walk around today saying, “May the 4th be with you”, or celebrate tomorrow with a margarita. But today is a special day for Audi owners who enjoy the advantages of quattro drive—it’s quattro de Mayo! And it’s also the name of an event held every year by ACNA’s Georgia Chapter, Quattro de Mayo, or just QDM for short. My navigator and I returned home yesterday from this year’s outstanding event. You’ll be able to read all about it in the next issue of quattro Magazine.

We missed last year’s QDM because we volunteered to lead drives in another German car club’s semi-annual driving event. That was a first for us and perhaps the last because it didn’t feel as special as QDM. It was so great seeing once again everyone we’ve met over the course of attending five QDMs since 2017. If you haven’t been to one yet, put it on your list of things to do! Our congratulations go out to the leadership of the ACNA Georgia Chapter for organizing and executing yet another fantastic QDM.

On the drive home I was thinking about the name of our club, Audi Club North America. North America—that includes a lot of territory and it’s an entirely accurate name. When you can go to an event in North Carolina sponsored by folks from Georgia and reconnect with friends from Indiana that you met in Wyoming while attending an event that since 2002 has driven great roads in the western half of the U.S. and into lower British Columbia and Alberta in Canada (TT West), you’re a member of an amazing club!
