This past month little was going on and this month will be more of the same. Audi Club Florida will not be conducting, organizing, and participating in any events this month. With that said, most regions remain very restrictive on what can take place and that is our major limitation, but the priority is keeping you safe when participating in events representing or promoting the Club. Audi Club Florida is not willing to put anyone at risk. The chapter leadership has started having conference calls monthly to discuss our intentions as a group. We are about to go crazy from not having events. Those of you reading this newsletter are the ones who drive and inspire us to become leaders in the first place, to organize and lead regions, now that we cannot have meets we are all lost. As I heard, it stated by the previous Audi Club North America President Bud Dannemiller, “The cars bring us together; the friends bring us back.”

FixxFest in November: Hosted by UroTuning – More to follow –UroTuning and I will keep you posted. There are multiple builds in process that can put another Audi on the t-shirts again next year.
In most areas, events are not happening due to the occupancy rules and restrictions. When we get going, we are pleased to have the Platinum Coast and the Space Coast starting up with regional activities. Much planning is going into this. ACFL is recommending obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the regions and governor concerning events.
ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, some type of disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health until we can start meeting up again. #FlattenTheCurve
Audi COVID-19 Assistance:
If you know anyone who has been adversely affected by Covid-19 and being out of work for the time being, Audi of America through Audi Financial Services is offering payment deferral and lease extensions for people affected and financed with them. As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following area:
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office wondering why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have events within an hour’s drive of your location at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities.
If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details and we will discuss making it happen.

A quick word on a car many of us have pined for since shortly after the turn of the century when they first became available and have been forbidden fruit for quite some time. RS 6 Avants were always out of reach. They were expensive, fast, plus the combination of the very svelte A6 Avant, the latest in Audi technology and then never imported.
Now that they will hit our shores in limited numbers, supply and demand, laws of the market place combined with dealership avarice in some instances, and low and behold we are now experiencing examples of “market” or “premium pricing adjustments” over and above the MSRP to the delivered price of these vehicles. To those of us who really have an affinity for Audi, the brand, and don’t drive or wear them like Aldo Cello as the latest driving fashion and have been purchasing and driving Audis for years we find that not only somewhat distasteful but an added pinch in the pocket book.
Please read the MSRP pricing guarantee that the ACFL has been able to secure with our Prestige Partner, Audi Clearwater on the 2021 RS 6 Avant and RS 7. This is just one more advantage of being member of the ACFL/ACNA.
In a recent visit with JB, General Sales Manager at Audi Clearwater, because of the COVID-19 crisis, needless to say all still remains rather quiet as folks are taking the necessary precautions to remain safe and healthy. In light of this, some still may need a new car and JB asked me to mention that they are offering in home demos and deliveries on all new Audi models. You do not need to visit the dealership to purchase your next Audi.
This is actually nothing new and was always part of their high level of customer service but now with the present national health crisis, is an option for those who would rather not visit the dealership and purchase their car from the comfort, convenience, and safety of their homes. He also stressed there remain a handful of select 19’s left.

One thing especially important is that you can now order for delivery your bespoke iterations of the following exciting vehicles to be put into the production queue as soon as the plants open in Ingolstadt, Neckarsulm and other sites across Europe: RS Q8, SQ8, and SQ7, plus the all new A6 allroad. Contingent on the opening of the European production, some of these may be 2021 models.
While some Audi dealerships in Florida are floor planning over 500 new Audi models on their lots, which means their monthly interest expenses (floor plan) are through the roof, Audi Clearwater has been holding many of their cars at the port of Jacksonville. These cars are still available within 48-72 hours for delivery but by managing their inventory at smarter levels and JIT deliveries they are able to offer better pricing on new Audi models during these turbulent times despite the fact that the suits at AoA marketing do continue to withhold money into the market to buy additional business. It is clearly a car buyer’s market at the present time especially with the low interest rates.

By going through George, this also helps us in tracking the value of the Prestige Partnership Program (PPP) and how many vehicles ACFL helps the dealership sell when we try to recruit new dealerships in different geographic regions of the state to the PPP.
Do not forget that Todd Emery who manages the operations, service, and parts departments at Audi Clearwater is offering a 15% discount to all readers of this newsletter on Parts and Service for your Audi. You need not have purchased your Audi at Audi Clearwater to receive this discount. In addition if you are traveling to the Sunshine State and are a reader of the ACFL Newsletter you can also use this discount should you need service for your Audi while you are on the road.

Platinum Coast Florida Audi Club is happy to announce that our inaugural kickoff event has been scheduled for Saturday August 22, 2020, at the Fort Myers Audi dealership. We welcome all current ACNA members and prospective enthusiasts to join us for Cars and Coffee at 8:00 A.M. David Forbes, General Manager, has promised to wrestle up the coffee and doughnuts as well as to spotlight some of the newest and most popular models for us to drool over, inspect, and learn about. Our club draws its membership from Sarasota south to Naples.
Future C and C will be booked at the Sarasota and Naples dealerships. After the C and C there will be a mystery cruise to an undisclosed location for lunch.
