First Look: Audi Q2/A2 EV Mule Reveals Design Cues

Just a couple of weeks ago we shared pictures of the Audi A2/Q2 e-tron test mule that was spotted wearing a VW ID.3 GTX body. We said at the time that we should start to see some actual Audi prototypes on the road soon. Well, here they are. We have our first spy shots of the test mule wearing a proper Audi body. Now we can get an idea of what the model will look like. And that look is that of a shrunken Q4 e-tron.

As we stated last month, we don’t have a lot of technical details about Audi A2/Q2 e-tron yet. We know the two models will share the modular electric drive (MEB) Entry Platform but beyond that we are still in the dark. So, let’s focus on the looks.

It should not surprise anyone that the Q2/A2 e-tron looks like a scaled down Q4 e-tron. But it has some classic Audi vibes as well. The shorter proportions give it a look reminiscent of the A2 from the early 2000s. The door handles on the test mule seem to be the same as we have spotted on the next-generation Q7.

The back of the vehicle shows a prominent rear spoiler that looks like it bisects the rear window. It gives the diminutive Audi EV a sporty look. We should get even better looks at the spoiler and the rest of the vehicle as we head into 2026.
