Find of the Day: Forget Pavement, This Safari-Style 2009 Audi TTS Is Ready for Dirt

Safari-Style 2009 Audi TTS

Occasionally when we do these Find of the Day posts, we come across a car so desirable that we begin to check our own sofa cushions for loose change so we can put the car in our own garage. This is one of those times. Offered on Bring a Trailer at no reserve is this awesome Sprint Blue Safari-Style 2009 Audi TTS Coupe.

At first glance, this might look like a rally support vehicle straight out of a Scandinavian forest stage. But underneath the chunky all-terrain tires and lifted suspension sits an Audi TTS, and it may be one of the coolest unconventional Audi builds currently up for auction.

On This TTS the S Stands For Safari

This 2009 TTS spent 17 years with one owner in California before being transformed into a Safari-style machine. The current seller completed the ambitious build in 2026, creating a unique mix of sports coupe, rally car, and overland-inspired toy. Unlike many off-road-themed builds, this one goes far beyond cosmetic upgrades.

The suspension has been heavily modified with adjustable coilovers, Hyperco springs, a custom subframe, tubular lower control arms, Penske dampers, and upgraded sway bars. Combined with 29-inch Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch Neuspeed wheels, the TTS now has a dramatically more aggressive stance and enough clearance to look ready for gravel roads and rally stages.

Performance upgrades help back up the visual drama. The turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI engine features APR ECU and transmission tuning, a high-pressure fuel pump, upgraded intercooler, intake modifications, and a revised exhaust system. Even the Quattro all-wheel-drive system received United Motorsport software designed to send more torque to the rear wheels for a more playful driving experience.

Inside, the cabin has been transformed into something much closer to a race car than a luxury coupe. Cobra fixed-back racing seats, Schroth harnesses, a Blackbird Fabworx roll cage, and an integrated fire-suppression system dominate the interior. Yet some factory comforts remain, including the Audi Navigation Plus infotainment system.

Interestingly, despite the aggressive Safari appearance, the seller says the car has never actually been driven off-road and only touched grass for some of the auction photos. With 74,000 miles, a clean Carfax, and no reserve attached to the auction, this lifted TTS could become a bargain for the right Audi enthusiast looking for something truly different. Why spend $400K on a 911 Dakar, when you can have this? Bidding ends Saturday, May 16.
