When the Audi S4 showed up in 1991, it was based on the C4 100. After 1994, the 100 name was dropped in favor of A6. The C4 S4 became the S6 and the S4 name disappeared for a couple of years. Way back when I didn’t know much about Audi, I was so confused that I thought the Ur-S4 and the Ur-S6 were the same car…I was wrong and right. Anyway, enough of my rambling.
