FC Bayern Visits Neuburg – Home of Audi Sport Motorsport Operations.

Soccer fans know that FC Bayern Munich is one of the most successful professional soccer teams in the world. Having won more German league titles than any other team, as well as the UEFA Champions league multiple times, this club is renown.

This past month, the development team – FC Bayern World Squad – travelled to Audi’s facilities in Neuburg – home of Audi Sport motorsport operations. Their recent visit also included a tour of the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt, in addition to a day at the Audi Driving Experience Center. The state-of-the-art facility in Neuburg includes:

• A 2.2 km handling circuit
• 30,000 square-meter dynamic training center with skid pads
• Off-Road course with steep grades, water crossings, and obstacles
• Conference center
• Vehicle displays and customer experiences

During their tour of the Audi Driving Experience Center, the players were given an insight into Audi’s world of motorsport. The players were given insights into the brand’s motorsport history, its major successes of the past, and of its current Formula 1 project – all of which take place at the Audi Sport Headquarters in Neuburg.

A highlight of this experience was track time. The racetrack at Neuburg includes a driving experience with a test drive of the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance and R8. As the players got to experience the car’s speed and handling first-hand, this was a special experience to really test the on-track dynamics of these cars.

World Squad striker Germano Poniewas stated, “That was my first time in an Audi, and it was brilliant. It was crazy to see how fast the car can go.” He was especially impressed by the combination of speed, cornering and acceleration. He also mentioned, “I’m a Formula 1 fan and for me this new environment was incredibly exciting.”

As a token of their appreciation, the FC Bayern World Squad, together with head coach Roy Makaay and assistant coach Diego Contento, presented Audi representatives with two jerseys. One, commemorating the World Squad 2026, the other, honoring Maycon Cardozo – the former World Squad player from the Class of ’24. For the Class of ‘26, their visit to Neuburg was not only an exciting outing away from the pitch, but also a special insight into a different world of top-level sport.

Together, these two experiences create a unique balance of track driving and scenic touring, making this one of the most exciting international programs available to Audi Club members.
