For our first Find of the Day on e-tron connect, we present this. You may wonder why we are featuring an A3 Sportback e-tron. It’s a Premium so not well equipped but there’s a story about this one…we think. The 1st thing you’ll notice is the color. We rarely, if ever, have seen Audi exclusive on an A3 e-tron. We confirmed with Audi of America’s Audi exclusive manager that this one was ordered in Porsche Green 2D8. Here’s the ad:

This outstanding example of a 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Premium is offered by Audi Fremont. Your buying risks are reduced thanks to a CARFAX BuyBack Guarantee. It’s not a misprint. And the odometer isn’t broken. This is a very low mileage Audi A3 Sportback e-tron. A rare find these days. The quintessential Audi — This Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Premium speaks volumes about its owner, about uncompromising individuality, a passion for driving and standards far above the ordinary. More information about the 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron: The Audi A3 competes against other compact premium cars such as the BMW 2-Series, the Mercedes CLA and, to a lesser extent, the MINI Cooper. In past decades, owning a small car meant dealing with little more than bare bones transportation. These days though, owners of small cars need not be deprived of anything, and the A3 looks to continue that trend by offering a vehicle with a small footprint but with luxury-car performance and amenities. The A3 starts under $31,000. This model sets itself apart with high-performance S3, upscale feel, available all-wheel drive, three body styles, including convertible, Compact size, hybrid model, and clean styling.

We may know a little more history about this car. We were aware of this A3 e-tron when it was new. It being in the Silicon Valley area, this car was purportedly ordered by an Apple executive. A green Porsche Green car for a tech executive…you couldn’t have written a better story. But alas, for whatever reason, it wasn’t bought by the fruit executive. It was sold, disappeared, and has again resurfaced.

It’s a Premium model so no virtual cockpit nor any of the other frills. It was a very rare car; it’s a plug-in hybrid and the only A3 Sportback sold by Audi at that time. Other than the Audi exclusive color, it’s a pretty basic specced car but for an enthusiast of the green persuasion (I’m talking about  the environmental type), with different wheels and a suspension upgrade, you too can be a green Porsche Green 2D8 greenie. In fact, if this car was on the East Coast, it may very well be in our garage right now. You can find it for sale HERE.
