Wolfsburg, 7 June 2019 – The future of mobility is electric! In cooperation with the Volkswagen Group’s Audi brand, the Autostadt in Wolfsburg is captivating visitors with a new special offer. Starting on 7 June, a fleet of ten Audi e-tron electric vehicles will be available for free, accompanied test drives in Wolfsburg and the surrounding area. A new glass pavilion located in the car park in front of the Autostadt Service Building is where guests can sign up for a test drive and learn more about Audi’s first fully-electric production model.

Autostadt Managing Director Claudius Colsman: “As a campus for experiencing new mobility, the Autostadt in Wolfsburg inspires its guests every day. We will continue to expand our range of experiences in 2019. Together with Audi, we are pleased to present the new Audi e-tron as part of the Autostadt Driving Experience. We want to show our guests that e-mobility is emission-free but not emotion-free.” Barbara Teschner, Head of the Audi Pavilion in the Autostadt, points out that “The joint presentation by Audi and the Autostadt enables visitors to discover the benefits of an innovative electric vehicle behind the wheel of an Audi e-tron and experience the future of mobility at the highest level.”

Autostadt instructors provide a detailed briefing with tips on electric driving before going out on the road. They also answer frequently asked questions like “What is energy recuperation?” or “Why does an electric vehicle require less maintenance than a car with an internal combustion engine?” The Audi e-tron impresses with its striking SUV design, remarkable performance and variety of technical features. A practical daily driver, it achieves a range of more than 400 kilometres (WLTP cycle) and a total output of 300 kilowatts (408 PS). The optional, camera-based virtual exterior mirrors exemplify technical finesse combined with added safety. They reduce blind spots and feature coloured indicators embedded in the side displays to show the driver whether cyclists or other vehicles are approaching.

Guests can sign up for a free test drive in the pavilion in front of the Autostadt Service Building from 7 June to 31 July 2019 between 10 am and 5 pm, or go to the Autostadt online shop at www.autostadt.de. Starting on 1 August, the Autostadt will also be offering test drives in Volkswagen electric vehicles as well as in the latest models from other Volkswagen Group brands.
