Audi Themes experience

Audi owners have always had plenty of ways to personalize their cars, from paint colors and wheels to suspensions and engine tuning. Now Audi is extending that customization to the digital world. The company has announced an expanded Audi Themes experience that includes a new Personal Themes feature, allowing owners to turn their own photos into customized in-car displays. That means your Audi’s infotainment system can now feature a favorite vacation photo, family picture, beloved pet, or even another Audi. Because what better image to display inside your Audi than a picture of your Audi?

Personal Themes are created through the myAudi app using a series of on-screen prompts. Owners can save up to three Personal Themes at once, deleting an existing one whenever they want to create another. The themes are linked to the owner’s myAudi account rather than a specific vehicle, allowing them to carry over between compatible Audis.

The system goes beyond simply changing a wallpaper. Audi Themes coordinates backgrounds across the center and passenger displays and can also adjust the vehicle’s interior lighting colors on appropriately equipped models, creating a more cohesive cabin experience.

More Than 340 Audi Themes

Owners who don’t want to supply their own photos have plenty of alternatives. Audi has expanded its professionally created Themes catalog considerably since launching the feature in the U.S. in December 2023. What began with fewer than 50 designs has grown to more than 340, including landscapes, abstract artwork, seasonal themes, and travel-inspired imagery. Audi says additional content will arrive throughout the year.

The business model is changing as well. Audi originally sold individual themes separately, but customers can now access the complete catalog, including future additions, through an annual subscription. Owners who previously purchased individual themes won’t lose them; those designs will remain associated with their vehicles without requiring a subscription.

Audi Themes is available on compatible 2023-and-newer models. Audi is offering a seven-day introductory trial for $1, after which access costs $39.99 annually, or the equivalent of about $3.33 per month.

No, Personal Themes won’t add horsepower, improve handling, or make your Audi any quicker. But for owners who already customize everything from their phone wallpaper to their smartwatch face, bringing that same personalization into their Audi seems like a natural next step.
