Audi Looks to Extend Points Streak in Hungary

After back-to-back points finishes, the Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix with confidence growing and momentum on its side. The race at the Hungaroring marks the final round before Formula 1’s summer break, giving the team one last opportunity to build on its recent progress before the championship pauses.

The team’s improved form has been one of the encouraging stories of the past several races. Continued development behind the scenes is beginning to translate into stronger performances on track, and Racing Director Allan McNish believes those results are evidence that the hard work across Audi’s three operational bases is paying off.

Confidence Is High

“The recent races have shown the progress our team has been making, and it’s encouraging to see that translated into concrete results,” said McNish. “Back-to-back points finishes are a reward for the work going on across all three of our sites, but they also motivate us to keep working hard.” McNish added that the Hungaroring presents another opportunity for the team to continue learning and improving while aiming to head into the summer break on a positive note.

Veteran driver Nico Hülkenberg is eager to put the frustrations of Spa behind him and focus on the unique challenge presented by the tight, technical Budapest circuit.

“We showed enough last weekend to know there’s potential,” Hülkenberg said. “The priority now is to put a clean weekend together. The Hungaroring is a completely different type of circuit, and if we can get the car into a good window from the beginning and avoid the issues that have cost us recently, we should be in a good position to fight where we want to be.”

Formula 3 Continues

Teammate Gabriel Bortoleto shares that optimism after helping the team score points in each of the last two races. “Scoring points over the last two races gave everyone a real boost,” Bortoleto said. “We have been making progress over the last few weekends, and the aim now is to carry that into Hungary. It would be great to finish the first part of the season with another strong result for the whole team.”

Audi will also have another reason for fans to follow the weekend. Development Programme driver Freddie Slater will compete in Formula 3 at the Hungaroring, looking to cap off an impressive first half of the season after earning six podium finishes through the opening six rounds.

With momentum building in Formula 1 and one of its brightest young prospects continuing to impress in Formula 3, Audi heads to Hungary with plenty of reasons for optimism. Another points finish would provide the perfect way to close the opening half of the season before the championship resumes following the summer break.
