Audi Scores Another Points Finish at Spa

The Audi Revolut F1 Team continued its encouraging run with another points finish at the Belgian Grand Prix. Gabriel Bortoleto delivered an impressive drive to eighth place at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit. He now has 10 points on the season which places him 14th in the Driver’s Championship. Audi is 9th in the Constructor’s Championship, and just one point behind Williams for eighth.

After qualifying well on Saturday, Bortoleto backed up his strong pace with a composed and mistake-free race on Sunday. The Brazilian capitalized on excellent strategy, flawless pit work, and consistent race pace to secure another four championship points for the team. It marks Audi’s second consecutive points finish and provides further evidence that the squad is becoming a regular contender in the Formula 1 midfield.

Team Thoughts

Racing Director Allan McNish praised both Bortoleto and the team for executing when it mattered most.

“To come away from Spa with another points finish is a fantastic result for the team, especially at a circuit we didn’t expect to suit our car,” McNish said. “Gabriel delivered an excellent drive from start to finish, and everyone executed when it mattered most.”

McNish also singled out the pit crew, whose lightning-fast 2.1-second stop for Bortoleto helped him leapfrog the Racing Bulls at a critical stage of the race. Moments later, the crew completed a clean 2.7-second double-stack stop for teammate Nico Hülkenberg, showcasing the team’s growing confidence and execution under pressure.

Hülkenberg Still Searching for Points

While Bortoleto celebrated another top-10 finish, Hülkenberg’s race was considerably more frustrating. Starting deeper in the field, the veteran German battled through the midfield but finished 13th after struggling to overtake due to a lack of straight-line speed. Despite the result, Hülkenberg remained encouraged by the car’s overall pace.

“The encouraging part is that our race pace was competitive and we were right in the mix throughout,” he said. “It’s great to see Gabriel score points for the team. Hopefully, we can build on that in Budapest.”

Hungarian Grand Prix Coming Up

For Bortoleto, the finish represented another important milestone in his 2026 campaign and a reward for the team’s relentless development efforts. “I’m extremely happy with today’s result,” he said. “These consecutive points finishes are a huge boost for all of us. It’s a great feeling to know we are in the position to deliver results like this and keep fighting in the top ten now.”

With one race remaining before Formula 1’s summer break, Audi heads to next weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix carrying genuine momentum. Consecutive points finishes, improving race pace, and increasingly polished execution suggest the team is steadily moving in the right direction as it builds toward the second half of the season.
