Audi F1 Heads to Zandvoort Looking to Keep Its Points Streak Alive

The summer vacation is over, and Audi Revolut F1 Team is heading back to work. Formula 1 returns this weekend for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, where Audi will look to continue the momentum it established before the break. Audi arrives in the Netherlands riding a streak of three consecutive points finishes. The team capped off the first half of its inaugural Formula 1 season with another points-scoring performance in Budapest, providing some much-needed momentum heading into the second half of the year.

“The break gave everyone a chance to recharge ahead of what will be a crucial second half of the season,” said Audi Racing Director Allan McNish. “We know there is still plenty of work ahead, but we are encouraged by the direction we took before the break, and the aim now is to keep building on that over the remainder of the season.”

McNish expects another close fight for points at Zandvoort, where the Sprint format will add another layer of difficulty. With less practice time available, teams will need to get their cars dialed in quickly.

A Special Race for Hülkenberg

For Nico Hülkenberg, Zandvoort carries some additional significance. The German grew up just across the border and began his motorsport career in the Netherlands. With the Dutch Grand Prix set to disappear from the calendar for the foreseeable future after this year, Hülkenberg would like to give the local fans something to remember.

“Zandvoort has always been a special race for me,” Hülkenberg said. “It’s a classic old-school circuit and the Dutch fans always create an incredible atmosphere.”

Gabriel Bortoleto is also eager to get back behind the wheel after watching Audi make steady progress throughout the opening half of the season. “We have been learning more about the car with every race, unlocking more of its potential as we went on,” Bortoleto said. “It’s important that we carry that into the second part of the season.”

Emma Felbermayr Returns to Action

Audi fans will have more than the Formula 1 race to watch this weekend. Audi Development Program driver Emma Felbermayr returns for the fourth round of the F1 Academy season as she continues her championship fight.

The first half of Audi’s debut F1 campaign was about learning and development. Three straight points finishes suggest those lessons are beginning to pay off. Now Zandvoort offers the first opportunity to see whether Audi can turn that late-summer momentum into an even stronger second half.
