Audi F1 Heads to Spa Looking to Build on Silverstone Momentum

The Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to one of Formula 1’s most legendary circuits this weekend with renewed confidence. After scoring its first points since the season opener at Silverstone, the team arrives at Spa-Francorchamps hoping to continue the steady progress it has shown over the past several races.

Silverstone marked an important milestone for Audi’s inaugural Formula 1 campaign. Gabriel Bortoleto’s eighth-place finish put the team back in the points after narrowly missing out in recent races, reinforcing that Audi has become a consistent contender in the tightly contested midfield battle. Racing Director Allan McNish believes the team’s hard work is beginning to pay dividends.

“Silverstone was another positive step forward for our team,” McNish said. “We have been consistently operating at or near the front of the midfield battle, and being back in the points after a couple of races finishing just outside of them was a deserved reward for all the work that’s been going on behind the scenes.” McNish emphasized that while Spa presents a very different challenge than Silverstone, the objective remains the same.

“There is a positive atmosphere within the team, and everyone is pushing in the right direction,” he said. “Spa is a demanding circuit, but another good opportunity to continue our progress.”

Nico Hülkenberg is eager to bounce back after his promising Silverstone race ended prematurely with a gearbox failure. Despite the disappointment, the veteran driver sees plenty of reasons for optimism.

“Our pace has really been heading in the right direction over the last few races,” Hülkenberg said. “We’ve been consistently fighting towards the front of the midfield, and that’s something we want to build on. If we can put together a clean weekend, we’ll give ourselves the best chance to come home with a solid result.”

For Gabriel Bortoleto, Spa offers another opportunity to build on the confidence gained from his points finish in Great Britain.“Scoring points at Silverstone was a great result for the team and a nice reward for all the work that’s been going on,” Bortoleto said. “We’ve been making steady progress over the last few races, and it’s important that we keep taking those steps.”

With just two race weekends remaining before Formula 1’s summer break, Audi will be looking to prove that its recent improvement is more than a one-off result. If the team can maintain its upward trajectory at one of the sport’s most demanding circuits, another points finish could be well within reach.
