Audi at the 2018 New York International Auto Show

There’s no doubt that Audi of America continues its dominating pace in 2018. That much was on display at the 2018 New York International Auto Show where the world reveal of the Audi RS 5 Sportback took center stage, alongside the R8 RWS and new A6 sedan that also made their North American debut.

In fact, Audi had pulled the cover off of the RS 5 Sportback model the night before at a closed event held across Manhattan’s West Side Highway at the Classic Car Club Manhattan. The night before, and also here at the show, Audi executives confirmed that the RS 5 Sportback wouldn’t just be coming to America, but also will arrive in American dealers first… ahead of European dealerships even. Expect the RS 5 Sportback in American dealerships by early next year.

Hot on the heels of their own debuts at the Geneva Motor Show last month, the new Audi A6 and R8 RWS (rear wheel series) also were on display. Each of these new models will be appearing later this year, first in a few weeks with the R8 RWS and then in a few months for A6.

Of course, the rest of the Audi lineup is also no slouch. Newest amongst the rest of the cars off stage were the new A8 and A7 that are also both soon to be on sale in American dealers. The A8 comes here first, and netting the title “World Luxury Car of the Year” won’t hurt.
