The 2027 Q7 and SQ7 Get Faster, Smarter, and More Capable for a Modest Price Increase

When Audi revealed the all-new 2027 Q7 and SQ7, the headlines focused on their dramatic performance gains, redesigned interior, and next-generation technology. Now that U.S. pricing has been announced, some shoppers may notice the higher MSRP. Look a little closer, however, and it’s clear Audi is delivering significantly more SUV for the money.

The 2027 Audi Q7 starts at $70,900, an increase of $3,300 (4.9 percent) over the outgoing Q7 55 TFSI quattro. While any price increase deserves scrutiny, this isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison with the previous entry-level Q7. For 2027, Audi has eliminated the four-cylinder base model, making a six-cylinder engine standard across the lineup.

More Performance

That change alone transforms the Q7’s performance credentials. The new 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 produces 429 horsepower, a gain of 94 horsepower over the previous Q7 55 TFSI. Acceleration improves from 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds to just 4.8 seconds, putting the luxury SUV firmly into sports sedan territory.

Performance isn’t the only area receiving attention. The 2027 Q7 features a completely redesigned interior along with Audi’s latest infotainment system, enhanced driver assistance technologies, updated lighting, and a more refined user experience. Buyers can also opt for second-row captain’s chairs for the first time, further elevating the premium feel of Audi’s three-row SUV.

High-Performance Rivals

The same philosophy carries over to the 2027 SQ7. Starting at $98,700, the high-performance SUV costs $4,900 (5.2 percent) more than before. In return, buyers receive a substantial increase in performance. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 now produces 591 horsepower, up 91 horsepower, while reducing the sprint to 60 mph from 4.0 seconds to just 3.7 seconds.

Audi also points out that the SQ7’s combination of V8 power, quattro all-wheel drive, advanced chassis technologies, and genuine three-row practicality places it closer to higher-performance rivals like the BMW X5 M and Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 than the less powerful BMW X5 M60i or Mercedes-Benz GLE 580.

A Lot More Q7 for a Little More Money

Viewed through that lens, the 2027 Q7 and SQ7 aren’t simply more expensive than their predecessors, they’re considerably more capable. With substantially more horsepower, quicker acceleration, richer standard equipment, and meaningful technology upgrades, Audi has done more than raise prices. It has raised the bar for what buyers should expect from a luxury performance SUV.
