Spy Photo: Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato

Wild V10 supercar heading for the nearest dirt road! With the Urus Performante already official, it’s soon time for the next Lamborghini model to break cover and it might be the Huracan Sterrato that next in line for an official debut.

Back in 2019 Lamborghini gave the world the concept car Sterrato, an off-road version of the Huracan. At the end of 2022 Lamborghini will give the world, or at least those who can afford it, the production version of the Huracan Sterrato.

We spied this prototype of the Huracan Sterrato running on a regular asphalt road but our guess is that most of the Huracan Sterrato will end up playing in the sand dunes in some desert countries instead. As we can see, this prototype car is toned down compared to the concept. The tacked on wheel arches are missing and the same goes for the roof rails but we suspect that they might come cack for the production car. On our earlier sightings, we could see both the roof rails and a skid plate up front.

But on this prototype, we can see the jacked up suspension and the roof scoop over the engine to make sure the cooling works and the engine gets some fresh air to breathe. Expect the 5.2 liter V10 engine to be basically untouched but most likely the dual-clutch gearbox and the AWD system calibrated for some better off-road capabilities. Lamborghini also said this will be the last Huracan with the V10 in this shape. From next year we have to assume that the new models will have a hybrid set-up.

A limited run is most likely , with a figure between 500- 1000 cars to be made.
