With the electric models expanding the model line-up more and more at Audi, there will be some changes regarding the names of the models. This also means that some models are going away in the way we know them and the Audi A4 sedan is a good example for that.
It’s not just that the models with the even numbers will be the EV models and the odd numbers will be for the ICE powered cars; in the case with the A4 sedan it will be deleted completely and the new Audi A5 Sportback will fill its place. This means that we will see the new Audi A5 line-up as following: A5 Sportback, A5 Avant, A5 Coupe, and A5 Convertible. Unless Audi decides to ditch the Coupe and Convertible as well which we really don’t hope.
But more important for now, we can show you the very first photos of the all new Audi A5 Sportback.
So far only the Avant has been spotted but finally we also got our first look on the Sportback version. Up front, it’s basically the same looks as we have seen on the Avant but then it all gets different and a sleek and beautiful body style is showing. And just like on the current Audi A5 Sportback, we can see a large rear hatch. The engine options will be shared with the Avant meaning some petrol and diesel options with mild-hybrid tech. Plug-in hybrid versions will also be offered as are of course the S and RS versions.
Debut could come as soon as the end of this year as a 2024 model.
