Spotted: Audi’s New RS 6 Sedan Testing at the Nürburgring

Audi RS 6 Sedan

The Audi RS train is picking up steam. The RS 5 has already been revealed and now we have spotted the RS 6 Sedan being tested at the Nürburgring.

It has been more than 15 years since the last four-door RS 6 sedan left showrooms. So, seeing prototypes of the next-generation model undergoing rigorous testing in and around the legendary Nürburgring is very exciting. The return of the RS 6 sedan signals Audi’s commitment to blending everyday practicality with supercar-level performance.

Unlike its predecessors, the upcoming RS 6 sedan is expected to embrace electrification, much like the RS 5. Only in the RS 6 sedan it’s possible that the plug-in hybrid powertrain will be built around a turbocharged V8 engine instead of a V6. With the RS 5 topping 630 horsepower, we would expect the RS 6 sedan to tack on an additional 100 horses, for a total around 730. That will position it as a formidable rival to the latest BMW M5, which produces 717 horsepower from its V8-based hybrid system.

This electrified approach reflects Audi’s broader performance strategy, delivering enhanced power while improving efficiency and emissions. Enthusiasts can also expect the signature RS formula, aggressive styling, quattro all-wheel drive, and track-ready dynamics refined through extensive Nürburgring development. You can also expect all of the high-tech wizardry from the RS 5, such as Dynamic Torque Control to be included on the RS 6 sedan.

The all-new RS 6 sedan is slated to debut for the 2027 model year, with an official premiere anticipated sometime in 2026. For fans of high-performance luxury sedans, the return of the RS 6 in four-door form is shaping up to be well worth the wait.
