Sibling Rivalry: Modified Audi RS 6 Avant Challenges Lamborghini Huracán Performante on Drag Strip

Comparing a modified car to a stock one is never fair. At least that is what Lamborghini Huracán Performante owners are going to say when they see this Carwow video of an Audi RS 6 Avant dominating the drag strip.

Let’s start by introducing the combatants. In the Audi corner is the RS 6 Avant. But this one has nearly $50,000 in performance upgrades. It wears a pair of upgraded turbos, an upgraded intake, new intercoolers and a Milltek exhaust with sport catalytic converters. That is good for a healthy 840 horsepower. However, the Audi is lugging around a touch over 4,500 pounds.

The Lamborghini Huracán Performante is stock, but this is a razor-sharp performance car, not a family station wagon. Mounted in the middle of the car is a normally aspirated 5.2L V10 that makes 640 horsepower. And that power only needs to carry around about 3,270 pounds. The Lambo has 5.1 pounds per horsepower and the Audi 5.3 pounds. Both use all-wheel drive. This should be interesting.

First up is a series of three drag races from a dig. In race number one the Audi simply walks the Lambo. The Audi gets a much better launch, and the Italian supercar has no chance of catching up with the more powerful German wagon.

In race two, the Huracán gets a nearly perfect launch and noses ahead. However, the power advantage of the Audi is just too much and reels in the Lambo for another win. Race number three follows a similar pattern. Three races and three wins for the Audi. It finished the quarter in 10.7 seconds; the Lamborghini was a tenth behind at 10.8.

To give the Lamborghini a shot a redemption, a series of roll races are up next. The Lamborghini claims its first victory of the day in the first race as it rockets ahead when both cars drop the hammer. The Audi begins to reel it in but not before the end. In race two, the Lambo driver jumps so it is a hollow victory. In race three the Audi takes the win.

However, perhaps the most impressive win for the Audi is the brake test. The lighter supercar should take this one. But it is the RS 6 Avant that manages to stop before the Lamborghini. Yes, the Audi was heavily modified, but it is still a practical wagon and it just showed up its supercar sibling.
