The Petersen Museum has teamed with online education firm Yellowbrick to offer a free online course for those interested in trying their hand at automotive design. Dubbed “Auto Design & Sketching” it is open to anyone 13 and older. It also features instruction from key industry designers such as Franz von Holzhausen from Tesla, Ralph Gilles form Stellantis, Christine Feel form Chrysler and Roman Yneges from ArtCenter College of Design.
The course includes three self-paced modules including 1) Principles & History of Auto Design, 2) Famous Car Case Studies and finally 3) Let’s Draw that focuses on sketching exercises. Each module is broken down into smaller lessons ranging from 6-15 minutes. Those interested need only provide sketching materials in order to participate in section 3.
