No matter how many kids you have, no matter how many groceries you must get, and no matter how ardently you identify with vintage era of four-ring lineage, it’s hard to imagine any Audi enthusiast not lusting after an R8. Audi’s mid-engine everyday supercar has garnered countless fans over the years, Tony Stark amongst them, so desiring them is easy to empathize with if you aren’t an owner already. But, what if you are an owner already?

Such is life for one NorCal Audi Club, specifically Bay Area R8s… a.k.a. BAR8s. As you might expect, the booming technology hub of Silicon Valley makes for a perfect environment for such a group to exist and flourishing. And speaking of flourishing, they recently hosted their 2nd annual run from the Bay Area to Pebble Beach on July 18.

When the group was new last year, member Corey Wong shares that it only attracted eight cars for the drive. Over the last year, word of the group has spread, catching the attention of many NorCal R8 owners and enthusiasts. This time around, the 2nd iteration of the event garnered no less than 31 cars.

Corey shares that the group is all about meeting, greeting, eating, and running. “It’s a great group of people who really appreciate their R8s and the company. They look at their cars as a “vehicle” for good people just to get together.”

The route itself is a few hours of picturesque driving if run straight through. In this case, the group pre-plans a few locations to stop, socialize, take some photos, and also some drone videos.
