Next Generation RS 6 Avant Spied Testing

Having just caught the upcoming B10 Audi RS 5 Avant test mule, our spy photographers recently spotted its bigger brother, the next generation RS 6 Avant. While the outgoing RS 6 Avant uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, the replacement is expected to use a high output plug-in hybrid V6 powertrain.

Initially planned to be named the RS 7 Avant to align with Audi’s odd/even number naming convention, Audi recently confirmed that their new gasoline powered midsize range will retain their existing “6” number given the change in Audi’s naming strategy. The new gasoline powered A6 & S6 sedans are set to debut on March 4th 2025, but Audi has not yet confirmed when the higher performance RS variant will be revealed.

With BMW preparing their new M5 Touring for U.S. imports, and nothing yet confirmed for a next generation Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon, Audi fans are eagerly awaiting to see what the next RS 6 Avant will bring to the high performance estate showdown.
