He also set the indoor speed record while hosting the History Channel’s Top Gear USA.
Foust is the first American driver to win a round of the European Rallycross Championship, the World Rallycross Championship and the winningest driver in U.S. Rallycross. Foust has been a dominant driver in rallycross since the sport of rallycross was first introduced in the United States in 2010.
His varied race experience includes multiple years of open wheel competition, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Rally Racing, various types of sports car racing and the SCORE Baja 1000. He has represented the USA in the annual Race of Champions three times (2010, 2009, 2008) while also performing stunt driving duties in some of Hollywood biggest blockbuster movies doubling Jason Stathem, Keanu Reeves, Chris Hemsworth and Paul Walker.
“It’s very exciting to join Dreyer & Reinbold Racing this year for the introduction of the new Nitro RX campaign,” said Foust, who has been a renowned performer in the History Channel’s “Top Gear” show as well performing stunts in various film, television shows and commercials. “The DRR organization is bringing in the potent Audi EKS Quattro for the SuperCar division. The car has been very successful in the European and Nortic Rallycross tours. I look forward to working with their experienced team in the quest for the inaugural Nitro Rallycross SuperCar championship.”
“We are thrilled to bring a championship driver of Tanner’s abilities to our Dreyer & Reinbold Racing operation in the new Nitro RX series,” said Dennis Reinbold DRR team owner. “Tanner has been successful in every vehicle in which he has competed for several decades. We are anxious for him to team with young Cabot Bigham in our two-car Audi EKS Quattro SuperCar effort. The excitement of the new Nitro RX series is growing as we work towards the season opener in Utah on Sept. 24-25.”
