More Powerful Audi S6 e-tron Performance Spotted Testing

Audi’s electric A6 lineup is about to get a little more exciting. Fresh spy photos suggest the brand is putting the finishing touches on a hotter version of its premium EV sedan. While many enthusiasts initially expected the model to wear the legendary RS6 e-tron badge, new information indicates Audi has different plans. Instead, the upcoming performance model is likely to be called the Audi S6 e-tron Performance.

That may disappoint fans hoping for a full-blown RS model, but it shouldn’t diminish expectations. The S6 e-tron Performance is still expected to offer a meaningful step up over the standard S6 Sportback e-tron, with more power, sharper handling, and a more aggressive appearance. It should also feature the latest performance-focused software and chassis tuning to better match its upgraded capabilities.

Like the rest of Audi’s A6 e-tron family, the new model is expected to ride on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture shared with the Porsche Macan Electric. That platform has already proven capable of delivering impressive acceleration, long driving range, and fast charging, giving Audi an excellent foundation for a sportier flagship.

The latest prototype also appears to wear revised front and rear styling that distinguishes it from lower trims. Enthusiasts can also expect larger wheels, more aggressive aerodynamic elements, and unique S-specific design cues.
