In case you didn’t know, Audi Tradition has two of its most revered cars in the United States right now. Michèle Mouton’s 1985 Pike’s Peak winning Audi Sport quattro S1 and the legendary 1989 Audi 90 IMSA GTO have been doing the rounds, just last week at the F.A.T. Ice Race, and now headed to The Amelia Concours week in Florida. Along the way, they’ll be making a few stops at Audi Greenville (South Carolina) and Audi Jacksonville (Florida). We’re calling it the Mobile Museum.
Audi operates the museum mobile at its headquarters in Ingolstadt Germany. Filled as it is with the crown jewels of the Audi Tradition collection, these two cars are fixtures in that space. It’s rare that they get out and about, so when Audi Club learned the pair would be coming to America for the F.A.T. Ice Race and The Amelia Concours, we wanted to see how we could augment that plan so that more Audi aficionados could enjoy the cars. So, we lobbied for more stops, found some great dealers willing to support the concept even further. We’re calling it the Mobile Museum, effectively Audi historic and iconic cars coming to a venue near you, and with luck perhaps we’ll see more programs like this in the future.
For the moment, here are the confirmed dates for display of the cars. The dealer events will also include demonstration of one of the cars and may require RSVP (see links below). Radwood and The Amelia Concours are their own separate events and require purchasing of tickets to attend.
