Club News – February 2021

The Audi Club North America is still operating under Covid-19 guidelines for 2021 until further notice.  The Audi Club Kentucky will follow these guidelines until we get the all clear from National.  There are some new requirements for 2021 in our waiver forms.  To comply with the club insurance umbrella policy, the club will require a Communicable Disease waiver to be signed for all club events.  This includes any wheels in motion events, including tours of any kind.

International Audi News – After several years absent from endurance road racing, Audi will soon return with a LMDh.  This is essentially an IMSA Dpi car with a 40hp electric motor installation.  It will be fantastic to see Audi back on the track…where it belongs!

The ACNA sweepstakes this year is for a 2021 Audi RS6 Avant.  The winner will be able to customize the order by choosing any color available in the VAG palette.  The car has a value of $128,000 USD which makes it the largest prize the ACNA has ever offered.  Go to the national website to purchase your sweepstakes tickets and be certain to click on the tab to credit the $sale to the Kentucky Chapter.  If the Kentucky Chapter accrues $10,000 in ticket sales, we will receive a super cool EZ-Go pop up tent emblazoned with our chapter logo!!!  Buy your sweepstakes tickets and GOOD LUCK!!

The Audi Club of Kentucky has increased our membership to the point that we are no longer the smallest chapter in the National Club.  We would like to welcome three of our newest members, Lee Grimes, Duane Cronin and Florin Neidoni.

Long time member Dan Foltz is working on getting our Audi Club Kentucky YouTube channel up and running.  More to come on that project.  In the meantime, we will continue posting events on the Audi Club Community Facebook page and the Cincinnati Audi Enthusiasts-Seven Hills|Four Rings Facebook Page.

So, what are we doing for 2021 while we remain under Covid-19 guidelines?

First, we will continue to meet during Cars and Coffee at the Crestview Hills Town Center.  As soon as possible, we will meet back at Dead Low Brewing Company.  Also, you would love taking a great drive to Louisville for the Cars and Coffee events at the Captain’s Quarters.  The location is beautiful along the river and the restaurant will likely be ideal for an outdoor lunch.  Check it out at least one time this Spring.

Second, a Spring Drive is scheduled for April 25th.  Stay tuned for details.

Third, there are two newer events we would like to experience with our Audi fans.  Rally Appalachia highlights driving tours in Eastern Kentucky.  Some roads will be closed to through traffic in order to accommodate spirited driving by event participants.  This event is scheduled for June 4-6, 2021 and will feature unique accommodations and restaurants.  For more information visit www.rallyappalachia.com.

We are contacting the people sponsoring EURODISTRICT in Louisville, KY.  This event has a reputation that is calling out for Audi lovers to participate!  Save the date of October 9, 2021 and look for more information.

Last but not least…The VW-Porsche-Audi Reunion is September 26th.  This old school car show is a must do activity for your bucket list.  The people are great, the food and drinks are wonderful, and the collection of cars is absolutely amazing.  Be there!
