This past month sparks of life started happening to mark a return to attending some hosted events as depicted by the above picture at Universal Tint Pros, who hosted and Audi Club Appreciation Day. With that said, most regions remain very restrictive on what can take place and that is our major limitation but the priority is keeping you safe when participating in events representing or promoting the club.
Audi Club Florida is not willing to put anyone at risk. The chapter leadership is conducting conference calls discuss our intentions as a group. This month the Emerald Coast is leading the charge back to having events, luncheons, and drives. Additionally, the Platinum Coast celebrates their relaunch.
The Platinum Coast Audi Club is excited to announce their inaugural Cars and Coffee will be held at the Audi Ft. Myers dealership at 10050 Daniels Interstate Ct.; Ft. Myers, FL 33913 on Saturday, September 26th. Details in the Platinum Coast section. If you are in the Sarasota to Naples area, feel free to attend. The Gulf Coast region is organizing a cruise to join in and celebrate the kickoff.
In the meantime, feel free to organize activities with your Audi owning friends and enjoy your wheels, have some social interaction, following the state and local guidelines when in public, and as well in private. Protect yourself.

Oktoberfest in Gainesville is most likely canceled. As of this writing, a band is not able to be flown over.
FixxFest in November: Hosted by UroTuning – More to follow –UroTuning and I will keep you posted. Multiple builds happening that can put another Audi on the t-shirts again next year.
In most areas, events are not happening due to the occupancy rules and restrictions. ACFL is recommending obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the regions and governor concerning events. ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, some type of disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health until we can start meeting up again. #FlattenTheCurve
Audi Club North America Board of Directors Candidates:
Each year, three of the nine National Board of Director positions are up for election. Directors serve a 3-year term and are eligible to run for a second 3-year term. For the term 2018-2020 ending in December, director seats for Troy Sicotte, Gordon Varney, and Christine Lemley are expiring.
This year we have a change to the voting rules. Now family members are eligible to vote as well as the club member. This year I would like you to take the time to vote when the time comes. I also want to point out that our very own highly qualified 2019 Audi Club Florida Member of the Year, Melisa Wilcox is running for election and would love to have your support. With your support getting her elected, she can be a voice of reason and make a positive impact for Audi Club North America like she has with Audi Club Florida. She is not leaving us but taking our ideas nationally for the benefit of all chapters.
Chapter Contributions:
There were some chapter contributions made to us through the national office. They are deeply appreciated and will be used for the good of the club down to the very cent.
I want to say thank you, and you will be receiving a private email from me acknowledging your contribution. I would do it through this newsletter, but your privacy is important.

As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following area:
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Thomas Brinkmann, the General Manager is ready to work with a representative to establish the region. If you are up to the challenge let me know.
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office wondering why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have events within an hour’s drive of your location at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities. If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details and we will discuss making it happen.

Cars and Coffee Reeves Motorsports After checking with Reeves Motorsports, unfortunately, because of COVID-19 issues and wanting to keep all safe and secure, once again there will be no Cars and Coffee in September. Kim Rogers is hoping things will be back to some semblance of normality by October and they hope then these great events can resume.
Drive South to Ft Myers, Cars & Coffee, WIM & Luncheon.
On Saturday, September 26th a full day of Audi camaraderie will commence at 6:00 AM as Members of the Gulf Coast Region will be meeting at the Northeast corner of the Walmart parking lot on 201 34th ST North. That’s right folks, for the first time in a very long time a meet and a drive. We will depart at 6:15 AM sharp and head south over the Sunshine Bridge to join the newly formed Platinum Coast Region for their inaugural meeting at Ft Myers Audi and a Cars and Coffee.
After the meet, there will be a second Wheels in Motion to an undisclosed location for a luncheon. Join us in this opportunity to not only get out from under the rocks and give our Audis a chance to stretch but for all of us to practice a little mandated social distancing.
Insurance waivers will be signed during the drivers’ safety meeting at the Walmart parking lot. If you are not a member of the ACNA but are driving an Audi or no longer have one and just want to join in on the fun, the drive, and the safe socialization, you are welcome to tag along, this is an open event. The ACFL has always been a big tent. Don’t forget to bring your masks.
Should you plan to participate in this event, please email your RSVP with the number in your car to [email protected] by noon Thursday, September 24th. This will allow the Platinum Coast Region to plan appropriately for their Cars and Coffee and following luncheon.
So check your tire pressures, coolant levels, washer fluids, and oil level as we all look forward to this event. If you need service or an oil change, now is a good time to get your car serviced for the fall driving season.

Emerald Coast Region – Panhandle
Emerald Coast Region – ACFL safely eased back into attendance of some local and regional events in August. We had a great cruise to and from Mobile Bay C&C despite the weather and traffic getting there. Universal Tint Pros of Pensacola hosted an Audi Appreciation day that was well attended and much appreciated. They provided individual boxed lunches, swag, and even raffled off a free tint job. Congrats to Harold Young who was the lucky winner. Audi Pensacola showed up in style to join us at Pensacola C&C with the all-new R8 V10 Spyder which was the talk of the show. Big thanks to Universal Tint Pros and Audi Pensacola for all the support!
September brings the first Auto Cross Event to our Region hosted by Race Chip and Emerald Coast Motorsports at Emerald Coast Speedway in Holt, Fl on Saturday the 12th. Pensacola C&C is back on for every fourth Saturday of each month at Detail Garage on Davis Hwy.
Down the road, we have APR’s Haus Party to look forward to on October 3rd in Opelika, Al.
