The Emerald Coast Region completes the second year of awesome car-focused activities this month under the leadership of Bobby Hopp and Melisa Wilcox. They have a good support network including a pretty nice Instagram. If you are in the area between East
Alabama to Tallahassee, you may have noticed a motorcade of Audi enthusiasts cruise by, or cruise into an event near you. The Platinum Coast continues to grow and have events in the Naples and Fort Myers area. The Gulf Coast continues to meet at Reeves Motorsports on the first Saturday of the month. The Gold Coast will hopefully be resuming in the next month or two. The First Coast has the Amelia Concours d’Elegance to look forward to this month at Amelia Island.
FixxFest
FixxFest will be happening this year.
When – Nov 20th, 2021
Where – Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park (The FIRM) Starke, FL.
It is the same great event, but with an exciting new location. Many of you are aware of the location. UroTuning is hoping to draw even more show competition from neighboring states; as well people who want have fun at the track. More details will given as they are “firmed up”.
In the meantime, continue to organize activities with your Audi owning friends and enjoy your wheels. Have some social interaction, following the state and local guidelines when in public and in private. Protect yourself.
Our priority is keeping you safe when participating in events representing or promoting the club. Audi Club of Florida is not willing to put anyone at risk. While welcomed to these venues, remember we are guests of the establishment or promoter and respect the rules. ACFL recommends obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the regions and governor concerning events.
ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, a disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or a dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health. #FlattenTheCurve
ACNA Vehicle Purchase Discount Certificates
For those of you planning to buy a new Audi and utilizing the ACNA Member discount, contact the front office at (262) 567-5476 as soon as you plan to shop. The certificates expire at the end of the month issued, so of negotiations lapse into the next month, you will need to request a new one to take advantage of the savings.
The ACFL still Needs Your Help
In the April ACFL newsletter a survey was started requesting information regarding the number of new Audis ACFL chapter members had purchased or had been involved in the purchase of during the last few years. We are starting with model year 2018. To date we have receive a number of responses and a sincere thank you for your participation but we are sure there are more out there that have not been reported. We are attempting to give the ACNA a few more arrows in their quiver when they go into their annual negotiations with AoA for the level of support AoA provides the national club. This support has significantly declined over the last few years and as a consequence is one of the reasons the ACNA is reviewing an increase in our national dues. As you all know we as a chapter have never had any dues and are totally self-sufficient.
From the data provided in our survey, the ACNA should be able to extrapolate and expand on the information gathered and use it in their annual funding negotiations and demonstrate the value that ACNA members provide to the AoA. Ironically, some of this information the ACNA already possesses including the requests for the discounts for all the new Audi vehicles that ACNA members purchased in the last 36 plus months. It is assumed you all put in and received discounts, but that did not include any RS models because no RS vehicles purchased qualified for the club discounts. Secondly, all of us, clearly the best ambassadors of the brand have been influential in the purchase of Audis by friends, extended family members, and others for which there has been absolutely no accounting or reckoning anywhere. What we would appreciate is if you would email the year, model, trim level (Premium Plus, Prestige, etc., none if RS model), first or repeat purchase plus dealership for the car(s) you have purchased and those that you have played a part in the purchasing experience. This information will then be collated and given to the ACNA. We will also report back to the members in a future newsletter. Please email this information to [email protected] who is gathering the data. Thanks in advance for your support and participation. In addition, if you would also provide the VIN number of the vehicle(s) that would be fantastic. It just adds some gravitas to what we are trying to accomplish here and can be cross-checked by AoA should there be any questions regarding the veracity of the information. There will be no reporting of names or email addresses except VIN numbers to the ACNA. Once again, thank you for your time and effort as we provide the ACNA with actionable information and facts for their negotiations with AoA. For the first time it will not be just a wistful negotiating statement that “Audi club members buy Audis and help sell them”, but here is the proof of what 400 plus members in just one chapter can generate in sales. The ACNA should be able to multiply that times 10,000 members and show what the club delivers.

Audi Club of Florida has the most active regions of any chapter in the Audi Club North America. As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following area:
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Thomas Brinkmann, the General Manager, of Audi Gainesville is ready to work with a representative to establish the region. If you are up to the challenge, let me know. This is a great opportunity where the dealership is almost the club house.
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office to find out why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have events within an hour’s drive of your location, at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities. If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details, and we will discuss making it happen. If you want to get active to help your region with ideas and help assist with and organize events, the regional leadership and I would love to have your help. This club is for you, so help us make it work for you.

Founded in 2013, The Amelia’s Cars & Coffee at the Concours allows individuals with vintage, exotic, and collectible vehicles to gather on the same show field used to display vehicles entered in the following day’s prestigious Concours d’Elegance.
Unlike Sunday’s main event that is limited to a select group of vehicles with unique historical significance specifically chosen to tell a thoughtfully-scripted story, Saturday’s Cars & Coffee at the Concours features a diverse group of vehicles that celebrate the automotive enthusiast’s spirit. Proud owners of beautiful collectible and exotic vehicles awake early, shine up their prized automobiles, drive to The Golf Club at Amelia Island and gather with like-minded enthusiasts on the first, tenth, and eighteenth fairways for a cup or two of fresh coffee.
Cars & Coffee at the Concours is free to spectators, but participants must submit an application with the fee for showing a car. The event generally fills up in early November.

Emerald Coast Region ACFL started the month of April with an Audi Family Easter Sunday C&C event in Crestview, Fl, and then we all shared a lovely brunch after. April showers washed out the rest of our planned Saturday events for the month. We are looking forward to May and hoping it brings us plenty of sunshine and of course… flowers.

Our Cars and Coffee at the Naples dealership was the highlight of our April event schedule. This was on our southern border of our club territory. It was a fun morning under the shade trees at the dealership with a great breakfast buffet with all the trimmings. They provided us with reserved parking for our rings and had the lineup of vehicles they wanted to discuss all within drooling distance of the buffet– and with the keys inside for total access and possible test drives. Our contact salesman, Thilo Schwill, outdid himself as he provided great SWAG bags as we were leaving to head out on our mystery drive to lunch. We enjoyed perfect SW Florida weather eating our lunch outside at The Pub at Ave Maria. We enjoyed looking around the rapidly expanding new developments in the town of Ave Maria. The town was established in 2005, by Tom Monaghan– founder of Domino’s Pizza. It features a beautiful Catholic Cathedral as its centerpiece with the town square full of shops and restaurants surrounding it. A quickly expanding Ave Maria University is nearby and several prominent Florida builders have developed communities within the city limits. It is worth the cruise to get there.
As we look ahead to May, we will be stretching up to our northern border with a Dine and Drive to Siesta Key – a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico west of Sarasota. Before meeting up at Turtles of Little Sarasota Bay for lunch, we will rendezvous at The Elite Motorworks in Sarasota who has a thriving business dealing with a range of luxury cars—-and of course our rings. Several of our members have submitted questions that they want to discuss with Jamie, the owner of Elite Motorworks. Should be an informative morning leading to a great waterfront lunch. We are looking forward to meeting some of our Sarasota area members who feel comfortable joining us in their backyard. We will be following all Covid restrictions and guidelines as we enjoy the late spring Florida weather together.
