The Emerald Coast Region conducted the Britton Hill Run in March and attended numerous Cars and Coffee events in the area west in the panhandle. It was the first major wheels in motion event held in a year, since the last Britton Hill Run actually. This event was registered, sign-ups conducted, waivers filled out, signatures collected digitally, and rosters collected online.
We will be moving this direction in the future for our official events like this. This service costs the registrant nothing. Motorsportreg.com makes the process easier for the club to organize events administratively for the region leaders. The Platinum Coast held a luncheon and drive event also. More details for each will be in the regional section.
FixxFest
FixxFest will be happening this year.
When – Nov 20th, 2021
Where – Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park (The FIRM) Starke, FL.
It is the same great event, but with an exciting new location. Many of you are aware of the location. UroTuning is hoping to draw even more show competition from neighboring states; as well people who want have fun at the track. More details will be given as they are “firmed up”.
In the meantime, continue to organize activities with your Audi owning friends and enjoy your wheels. Have some social interaction, following the state and local guidelines when in public and in private. Protect yourself.
Our priority is keeping you safe when participating in events representing or promoting the club. Audi Club Florida is not willing to put anyone at risk. While welcomed to these venues, remember we are guests of the establishment or promoter and respect the rules. ACFL recommends obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the regions and governor concerning events.
ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, a disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or a dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health. #FlattenTheCurve
We are trying to expand regional coverage but need your help!
Audi Club Florida has the most active regions of any chapter in the Audi Club North America. As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following area:
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Thomas Brinkmann, the General Manager, is ready to work with a representative to establish the region. If you are up to the challenge, let me know.
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office to find out why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have events within an hour’s drive of your location, at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities.
If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details, and we will discuss making it happen. If you want to get active to help your region with ideas and help assist with and organize events, the regional leadership and I would love to have your help. This club is for you, so help us make it work for you.

During this period of high interest and demand for specific Audi performance models, e-tron models and their iterations, unfortunately, some of our members have experienced Packs and Market Adjustments added to the MSRP by their local dealerships.
Audi Clearwater has always maintained a policy of not implementing such pricing policies and practices for ACNA/ACFL members. Doing Some Research and I Need Your Help
For several reasons over the last few years, Audi of America (AoA) has significantly reduced its financial support to the ACNA. Some probably justified, others because they feel their advertising and promotional budget has a better ROI in other areas such as joining American Express in having the four rings plastered as backdrops of photos for the such as Prince Harry, previously of the House of Windsor at some social event for the upper crust. I will pass on that discussion as to how that sells Audi and I digress here but I understand he has sold his RS 6 Avant. Now that I have your attention, in light of that reduction, what I am trying to do is gather information that directly shows how the 400 plus active members of the ACFL chapter help the AoA, not only by purchasing Audi but by promoting the brand and generating additional sales. Audi is in the business of selling cars, supporting our club is actually ancillary to that mission.
ACNA should be able to extrapolate and expand on the information gathered in their annual negotiations on the value of ACNA to AoA to acquire funding. Some of this information ACNA already possess including a list of all the new Audi vehicles that ACNA members purchased in the last 36 months. I would assume you all received discounts, but that did not include RS models because no Audi Sport purchased received the club discounts.
Secondly, all of us, as strong ambassadors of the brand have been influential in the purchase of Audi by friends, extended family members, and others for which there has been no accounting. What I would appreciate is if you would email me the year, model, trim level (Premium Plus, Prestige, etc., none if RS model), first or repeat purchase plus dealership for the car(s) you have purchased and those that you have played a part in the purchasing experience.
I will put this information together and give it to ACNA and will report back to the members in a future newsletter. It will be up to ACNA President and Executive Director to carry the ball in their negotiations with AoA. Hopefully, it may help in avoiding or diminish the need for a membership dues increase.

It just adds some gravitas to what we are trying to accomplish here and can be cross-checked by AoA should there be any questions regarding the veracity of the information. Little did we know that Emerald Coast Region-Audi Club Florida’s Britton Hill Run in March of 2019 would be the last event before the COVID-19 Pandemic shut down the world. One year later, ECR-ACFL has been fortunate enough to be able to host this great event again on a perfect day in the Florida sunshine. It truly was a “fun run” and a blessing to be able to share it with fellow ACNA members. I asked attendees to volunteer a summary of their experience on this year’s run, and I am very thankful to Bud Dannemiller for sharing the story of his experience with us.
A drive to remember…What makes a drive one “to remember”? If you’ve been on one, you know the answer to this question and you know it isn’t a simple one. If you have not been on such a drive, you don’t know what you’re missing.
So now you’re asking, “Okay Bud, what makes a drive ‘a drive to remember’ and where can I find it?” I’ll answer the question by attending to the second half first…the 2020 Britton Hill Run hosted by the Emerald Coast Region of the Audi Club Florida was such a drive… a drive truly to remember.
So now to the original question…what makes the drive one “to remember”? Is it the route itself with the various twist and turns along the way? In part, yes. Is it the places you stop and the people you see at those stops? Well, yes, that’s part of it too. Is it the cars you drive? It certainly can be…especially given some of the cars many of us drove on the Britton Hill Run this year.
But what made the 2020 Britton Hill Run a drive “to remember”? It’s all of the things I noted before with but one additional ingredient added: it’s the people! This year’s Britton Hill Run was my second one. And it was just as memorable as my first. Mind you…I’ve done my share of drives over the years. Some that I led; others here I was just along for the drive. Some short (like a run on “The Dragon”) and some long (an “epic” driven cross country with others). But to me, the Britton Hill Run will always stand out for all the things noted above…but especially the people.
The planners, the drivers, those who came as passengers, and those we met along the way as we spent the day driving the backroads of old Northwestern Florida and a portion of southern Alabama. It doesn’t get much better than that…the cars may bring us together but it’s the people who bring us back to make this a drive to remember.

March found us enjoying our first Dine and Drive event at the Blue Moon Pizza restaurant in Fort Myers. Although we had reserved the outdoor patio seating, we were happy to snuggle inside since it was one of those rare chilly and windy spring days in SW Florida. It was also a learning experience for our fledgling club, since we scheduled it on the same day as the 12 Hours of Sebring event which drew many of our core group away from our lunch.
But all the attendees agreed that we wanted to try the Dine and Drive again, so we will be heading to our northern boundary and visiting a Gulf front restaurant at Siesta Key for the May event. So mark your calendars for Saturday, May 15th—a fun time is sure to be had for all! And hopefully you already have April 10th noted as our southern boundary event: Naples C and C at the Naples Audi Dealership at 601 Airport Road South; Naples 34104. Of course, we will be having a mystery drive to lunch in a fun location in the area after the C and C. Happy and safe driving!
