As we work to get back to normal, we have events starting to happen again even though some regions remain restrictive on what can take place, but that is relaxing for now. Our priority is keeping you safe when participating in events representing or promoting the club. Audi Club Florida is not willing to put anyone at risk. While welcomed to these venues, please remember we are guests of the establishment or promoter and respect the rules they have. ACFL is recommending obeying the most up to date guidelines and orders issued by the regions and governor concerning events.
Roar before the 24
In a change to the schedule, the Roar Before the Rolex 24 preseason test sessions will be held the week before the Rolex 24 on Jan. 22-24, 2021 (the Roar usually takes place three weeks earlier than the race).
After the test, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams will remain at the track in the days leading into the race, taking part in “fan-focused events” around the 59th annual 24-hour endurance race at Daytona International Speedway that opens the season to the sports car circuit.
I will be scheduling a Board of Directors Luncheon in Daytona. Most likely, it will be at the same venue as last year, if they can open back up to serve the buffet. We will summarize 2020, brief 2021 plans, and roll out to the track afterward. I will post the final details in the December and January newsletters.
Euro Tripper 8
Euro Tripper is a go. Since we have the Platinum Coast Region there to support in the area, ACFL will be there again. It will be on February 13th. It is a fundraiser for Brookes Legacy Animal Rescue in Naples; FL. Tickets can be purchased through https://www.ticketleap.com/. No sales of tickets will be conducted at the gate; each car will be required to have a ticket to enter. Guests/passengers are free; however the ticketholder is responsible to ensure their passengers also are following COVID guidelines. Masks will be required at the event.
In the meantime, feel free to organize activities with your Audi owning friends and enjoy your wheels, have some social interaction, following the state and local guidelines when in public, and as well in private. Protect yourself.
We are in the middle of the holiday season, so many of you will be traveling to see family and friends. Please remember to ensure your vehicle is ready for the road. Tires, fluids, and especially your battery if you are traveling north.
ACFL still suggests using an antibacterial wipe, a disposable protective glove, a plastic t-shirt bag, or a dog poop bag as a barrier while using the fuel pumps to avoid potential exposure and dispose of it after fueling. Be careful out there and protect your health until we can start meeting up again. #FlattenTheCurve

Audi Club North America Board of Directors Election Results:
For everyone who took the time to vote on your own, or in response to my member-only email, the first mass emailing by me since I became President of Audi Club Florida, thank you. We were successful in helping our very own Melisa Wilcox of our Platinum Coast region get elected. She will be a voice of reason and make a positive impact for Audi Club North America, as she has with Audi Club Florida. She is not leaving us but taking our ideas nationally for the benefit of all chapters along with Leanne Kopras of the Arizona Chapter, and Don Istook of the Lone Star Chapter. Congratulations to all the candidates for running and volunteering to serve not just their own chapters, but nationally for the benefit of ACNA. Directors serve a 3-year term and are eligible to run for a second 3-year term. The Board of Director seats for Troy Sicotte, Gordon Varney, and Christine Lemley, were expiring and filled with this election.
We are trying to expand regional coverage but need your help!
Audi Club Florida has the most active regions of any chapter in the Audi Club North America.
As we continue this year, we are currently looking for leadership in the following area:
Gator Region – Gainesville Area
Thomas Brinkmann, the General Manager, is ready to work with a representative to establish the region. If you are up to the challenge, let me know.
Many people have emailed me personally and through the national office to find out why there is not something in their area. I tell them assistance is required to help get things going locally. We desire to unite the state and have events within an hour’s drive of your location, at least quarterly. We are looking for some people who have the ambition to lead and desire to start something long term, helping arrange places to meet for lunch, activities, attend local car shows and coffee events, and other social activities. If you would like to volunteer and help organize a successful regional club, please contact me for details, and we will discuss making it happen. If you want to get active to help your region with ideas and help assist with and organize events, the regional leadership and I would love to have your help. This club is for you, so help us make it work for you.

Cars and Coffee Reeves Motorsports & Reindeer Rescue Toy Drive.
Yes, their very popular Cars and Coffee is up and running again for Saturday December 5th. We are all very lucky, we get to own and drive Audis, and unfortunately, there are others not so well off and for their kids, just a toy would bring a little sparkle to their Christmas. Please bring an unwrapped toy to share the joy of the season. Since this is the third meet in many months, I am sure the event will be drawing a big crowd again so I suggest you get there early for a good parking spot so there is no need to park in East Cup Cake. Of course, bring the kids as it is believed that St. Nick will hopefully be making an appearance to collect the toys. There will be a special mug for all those who contribute gifts compliments of Reeves Motorsports. Cars usually start arriving by 6:30 and the event ends around 9:00. Reeves Motorsports is located at 11333 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33612.

Emerald Coast Region – Panhandle
Emerald Coast Region-ACFL finally caught a break and had some great weather in November. We had representation at both Mobile and Crestview C&C events on the 14th. Greatly appreciate everyone who came out and donated to Toys for Tots charity event in Mobile. We had a great pop up meet on Sunday the 15th and got to meet some of our Audi enthusiasts that can’t normally attend Saturday’s events. Our first visit to Destin Show and Shine event on the 21st turn out to be a promising venue that we will be visiting gain. Hopefully this will get our eastern members back in action. We closed out the month with Pensacola’s C&C and Import Rally’s Paul Walker event at Emerald Coast Speedway in Holt.
Looking forward to December and seeing everyone at the first event that Emerald Coast Exotics has been able to put on this year. It will be held at 3rd Planet Brewing in Niceville on December 5th from 2-5pm. On December 12th we have one of our favorite photographers @dgvmedia booked for a club photo shoot. Come enjoy the fun and get some professional pictures of your rings. Destin’s Show and Shine is set for December 19th. Pensacola and Crestview’s C&C have yet to announce their dates, stay tuned.

Down the road:
Unfortunately, we will not be able to have our fall run due to the challenges this year’s hurricane season. Instead, we will focus our attention to our 3rd annual Britton Hill Run set for March 8th.
We will have a full calendar of events for Q1 posted soon. Plan on representation at all the regional C&C’s and local car events. Mark your calendars and make plans now to attend The Roar Before the 24 in Daytona on January 22-24. It will be a fun trip to and a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow ACFL members.
Our @emeraldcoastaudiclub Instagram page keeps going strong! Jeremy Chavez’s contributions and help are greatly appreciated. Again, the storm has had an impact on our posting and content. We appreciate all the other Audi Club Groups that have continued to tag and support us despite our inactivity. If anyone in our region is interested in becoming a part of ECR’s IG group please reach out to me.
On a personal note, I would like to express my deepest appreciation for everyone’s support in ACNA’s BoD election. I am blessed to be a part of such an amazing Audi Club Family. I look forward to serving and representing you all. Thank you!

Platinum Coast Region (Sarasota to Naples)
Mother Nature and the ogre year 2020 have teamed up again to cause havoc in the ranks of the Platinum Coast Audi Club. We were invited to join the Ft. Myers/Naples Mercedes Club at their Test and Tune Event in Immokalee on November 20th. It was a beautiful Florida fall day—cruised down meeting up with some other club members, only to get to the gate and find the event canceled! The light rain we encountered on the drive down was more of a downpour at the track, and activities were canceled. The second victim of Mother Nature had a little help from the medical laboratories:
COVID-19. We had to pull the plug on our cruise to Solomon’s Castle and subsequent tours there with lunch at the Boat in the Moat due to Florida’s surging case numbers. We have rescheduled this event for February 20th, 2021. We would love to add any prospective members to our list and ACNA members from the surrounding areas who are up for a scenic drive in the country with a fun, pun-rich tour of one man’s ingenuity. Please email us and we’ll fill you in with the details.
We are hopeful to find a great drive-through Christmas display for our December event. Open to any suggestions anyone may have to offer. January 16, 2021, will find us at the Naples Audi dealership for a Cars and Coffee followed by a mystery drive to lunch in the area—sort of! Of course, we hope to have Euro Tripper at Jet Blue Park in Ft. Myers on February 13th and follow up the next weekend with the Solomon’s Castle tour. Let’s hope the spring will be more favorable for Gatherings and tours because we have some great plans in mind for March and April—stay tuned! We welcome non-ACNA members to come to see what the club has to offer you on a trial basis.
