Find of the Day: RHD 1999 Audi S3 Imported to U.S., Crosses the Block at No Reserve

The first-generation Audi S3, the 8L generation in Audi-speak, was not officially sold in the U.S. However, this right-hand-drive, UK-market 1999 model was imported last year. Now it is listed on Bring a Trailer and will sell to the highest bidder.

Do you want to be the coolest rural mail carrier in the country? Then you are going to want to place a bid on this Brilliant Black over Gray leather 1999 Audi S3. With plenty of cargo space, the steering wheel on the right-hand side and a peppy turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four engine it is the perfect machine. And thanks to the Quattro all-wheel-drive system, neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will keep you from making your rounds.

Although we suppose that even if you don’t deliver the mail with it, this 6-speed manual S3 would still be a ton of fun. You just need to get used to shifting with your left hand. A small price to pay for driving such a fun little car.

The car sits on 17-inch Avus alloy wheels wrapped in a mix of Goodyear and Pirelli tires. H&R lowering springs and a larger front sway bar were fitted by the current owner. Other modifications include a blue strut-tower brace in the engine bay.

The car shows 109K miles and a comprehensive set of services records document those miles. In July the oil was changed, some PCV hoses were changed and the engine tuned up. The air-conditioning system was also serviced recently in preparation for the sale.

This is a no reserve auction, so the highest bidder is going to take it home. Will that be you? Bidding ends on Thursday, September 18.
