Find of the Day: Java Green Makes This RS 6 Avant Performance Impossible to Ignore

2024 Audi RS 6 Avant Performance

The Audi RS 6 Avant Performance is not exactly known for flying under the radar. Packing supercar levels of performance into a practical wagon body tends to attract some attention. But if a standard RS 6 is still a little too subtle for you, we may have found the answer. How about one painted Java Green? This 2024 Audi RS 6 Avant Performance is currently offered for sale by Niello BMW in Sacramento, California, and the special-order paint makes an already desirable Audi nearly impossible to ignore.

Underneath that spectacular green bodywork is the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed Tiptronic transmission sends that power through quattro all-wheel drive, giving this family wagon the ability to reach 60 mph in a little over three seconds. But the specification goes well beyond the paint.

This example is equipped with the Matte Carbon Package, which complements Java Green nicely while adding an even more aggressive appearance. It also has the RS Sport Exhaust system and Gray RS Design Package Plus. Inside, the cabin provides the combination of luxury and performance you would expect from Audi’s ultimate wagon. Perhaps more importantly for anyone considering adding it to the garage, it has traveled only 3,631 miles.

A Nearly New RS 6 Without the Wait

The dealer is currently asking $136,996. That’s obviously a substantial amount of money for any wagon, but the RS 6 Avant Performance was never intended to be an ordinary family hauler. Add the special-order Java Green paint, desirable options, and extremely low mileage, and this becomes a particularly interesting example. Especially considering the nearly $20K discount from new.

There’s also something wonderfully appropriate about specifying an RS 6 this way. Audi spent decades giving enthusiasts enormously capable performance cars that could blend into traffic when necessary. The RS 6 Avant can still do that, at least mechanically. Java Green throws the blending-in part completely out the window.

For the Audi enthusiast who wants V8 power, quattro traction, room for the family and their luggage, and absolutely no chance of losing their car in a crowded parking lot, this RS 6 Avant checks an awful lot of boxes. And really, if you’re going to buy a 621-horsepower station wagon, why pretend you’re trying to be sensible? The only thing that seems wrong about this RS 6 is where it currently lives. Somebody please rescue this Java Green Audi from the BMW dealer before it starts developing giant kidney grilles.
