Find of the Day: 7k-Mile 1987 Audi Coupe GT

words: Bill, photos: Vantage Auto

I bought a new car in early 1987 and by the time the year ended, it probably had close to 20k miles on it. Now imagine having a 35 year old car that only has 7k miles on it and it still looks brand new? That is the case with this 1987 Audi Coupe GT. Just look at the photos. Here’s the ad:

We are pleased to offer out of our own collection what is likely the lowest mileage 1987.5 Audi GT left on the planet. With under 8k original miles this is a vehicle truly unlike any other…and has a 5 speed manual! The 1987.5 GT featured a higher compression motor, a digital gauge cluster, and cosmetic enhancements unlike other models. This example remained climate control stored with one owner until our acquisition.

All paint is original and we even believe the tires are as well. The motor is nothing short of incredible. The timing belt and water pump were just replaced to ensure that the next owner has no issues. This is an award winning car which takes home first place in most shows we’ve entered with her. An incredible piece of automotive history which will only continue to appreciate. Serious inquiries only please. Global shipping is available.

If you are not familiar with the Coupe GT, it’s a FWD Audi with the 2.2L inline 5-cylinder paired with a 5 speed manual transmission. This one is Tornado Red wit the desirable black interior; desirable in my opinion over the Platinum leather…red and black is just a great combination and the digital dash? No dead pixels there. Did I mention that this only has 7k miles? Looking quickly on the internet, I saw a 1986 Coupe GT with 55k miles on Bring A Trailer that sold last year for $11,000. This one? Well, its price is just slightly higher at…$62,500. You can find this pristine example at Vantage Auto located in New Jersey HERE.
