The definition of mythos is anything transmitted by word of mouth, such as a fable, legend, narrative, story, or tale (especially a poetic tale). Looking at this Mythos Black S7, one gets the feeling of a beast rising out of the mist. We know the owner of this S7 and from what we know about him, he is very meticulous with his cars…you could say almost legendary. Here’s the ad:

This 2017 Audi S7 is a Prestige example that is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 mated to a seven-speed automatic transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system and it is finished in Mythos Black Metallic over black Valcona leather upholstery. Equipment includes the Sport, Black Optic, Cold Weather, Driver Assistance, and Comfort Seating packages in addition to a sunroof, LED headlights, front and rear cameras, Audi Sport 21″ wheels, a sport differential, four-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, navigation, and a Bose sound system. The car was acquired by the current owner as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in February 2021, and subsequent warranty service included replacing the engine block, turbochargers, and the secondary air injection pump. This C7.5 S7 has 25k miles and is now offered in Pennsylvania by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature, service records, warranty documents, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in Mythos Black Metallic and features high-gloss black trim and body-color mirror housings as part of the Black Optic package. Additional exterior details include LED headlights, a power liftgate, power soft-closing doors, heated power-folding mirrors, a sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, tinted windows, front and rear cameras, and front and rear parking sensors. The seller notes etched paint on the hood and roof, and the left rear door is scratched.

Audi Sport 21″ matte titanium-finished wheels are mounted with 275/30 Continental ContiSportContact tires that show 2022 date codes. The Sport Package added Audi Dynamic Steering and red-finished brake calipers, and the car is also fitted with adaptive air suspension and Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC).

The heated and ventilated multi-contour comfort front sport seats feature massage functions and are upholstered in black Valcona leather. Carbon Atlas inlays accent the dashboard, center console, and Alcantara-trimmed door panels. Amenities include four-zone automatic climate control, heated rear seats, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, a head-up display, ambient interior lighting, and an MMI infotainment system with a retractable screen, navigation, and Apple CarPlay integration. The Driver Assistance Package added Active Lane Assist, Audi Pre Sense Plus collision mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go. The air conditioning system was recharged in April 2022, and a portion of the driver’s seat upholstery was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The heated leather-wrapped sport steering wheel features contrasting stitching and is mounted on a power-adjustable column. Instrumentation consists of a 7″ central digital display flanked by a tachometer, a 190-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The odometer indicates 25k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership.

The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter TFSI V8 was factory rated at 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque and features an energy recuperation system with stop-start functionality. Service performed under warranty by Cherry Hill Audi in New Jersey in 2021 and 2022 consisted of replacing the long block, turbochargers, and the secondary air injection pump in addition to repairing a vacuum hose.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed automatic S-tronic transaxle, a Quattro all-wheel-drive system, and a limited-slip sport rear differential. A sport exhaust system was also optioned.

Manufacturer’s literature, service records, and warranty documentation are included in the sale. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.

When asked why the block and turbochargers were replaced, Adam replied:

Both turbochargers were replaced (July 2021 /16,890mi) due to oil starvation, which was a known issue on the 2014-2017 4.0TT cars. In early 2022, Audi responded to the problem by extending the warranty on the turbos to 10yrs then issued a recall to replace the oil strainers on every vehicle produced prior to March of 2017, which includes this car. However, the new turbos that were installed on this car in July 2021 had the revised oil strainers in them from new, which is peace of mind because we know they were never abused prior to the recall.

The engine block was replaced (April 2022 / 19,785 miles) due to low compression / cylinder scoring in cylinder 6. To the best of my knowledge, this was a cause/effect issue from the oil starvation problem.

Here are the individual images of both warranty repairs where all of the details can be seen as well as the official recall notice.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask any additional questions. Thanks.

I love the A/S/RS 7. So much room, so much power wrapped up in a gorgeous sportback body. This one is a very clean low-mileage example offered by an owner who makes sure every detail is covered before he puts his cars up for sale. As of publishing, there are 6 days left and the current bid is $8,888 (3 bids). As the days wind down, I can assure you the bid will go up because who wouldn’t want a low mileage Mythos Black 2017 Audi S7 Prestige beast of their own? You can find it and over 200 photos HERE.
