Find of the Day: 2005 Audi S4 Avant

words: Bill, photos: Bring A Trailer

Honestly, I don’t go looking for Avants…they just fall into my lap(top). Imola Yellow, Nogaro Blue, and now a Moro Blue Avant. This has to be one of my favorite generations: a B6 V8 manual S4 Avant. This one ticks off all the boxes and it’s blue. Here’s the ad:

This 2005 Audi S4 Avant is finished in Moro Blue Pearl Effect over Silk Nappa leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. Factory equipment includes the Premium Package, a glass sunroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Audi Navigation plus, and birch wood trim, while modifications consist of 19″ three-piece BC Forged wheels, BC Racing coil-overs with Swift springs, a Milltek Sport downpipe, and a MagnaFlow exhaust system. The car was first delivered to Hoffman Audi of New London, Connecticut before its acquisition by the seller in 2019, and subsequently received a Clutch Masters clutch and flywheel, Density Line engine and transmission mounts, a replacement ABS module, and air conditioning service. This B6 Avant shows 110k miles and is offered at no reserve with a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Moro Blue Pearl Effect and features an electric glass sunroof, fog lights, brushed aluminum roof rails, polished mirror caps, a rear window wiper, and dual exhaust outlets. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and lenses are provided in the gallery below.

BC Forged 19″ three-piece wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires and a temporary spare is mounted in the rear cargo area. Braking is from slotted rotors and StopTech-branded calipers and brake pads. The seller notes that BC Racing coil-overs with Swift springs and adjustable upper control arms have been added and that the ABS control module was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The cabin is trimmed in Silk Nappa leather with birch wood trim accents on the dash, center console, and doors. Amenities include heated and power-adjustable front seats with driver position memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Audi Navigation plus, S4-branded polished door scuff plates, and floor mats. The air-conditioning system was serviced in December 2020.

A modified flat-bottom leather and Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer shows 110k miles, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller.

The naturally-aspirated 4.2-liter V8 was factory-rated at 340 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque and has been modified with a Eurodynamic Stage 1 tune including launch control. The timing chain was replaced at approximately 90k miles under previous ownership. Density Line engine and transmission mounts and new relays were installed, and the water pump and thermostat were replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a replacement HEP-code six-speed manual transmission and an Electronic Differential Lock. The car is equipped with a Milltek Sport downpipe and a MagnaFlow exhaust system, and a Clutch Masters clutch and flywheel were installed in preparation for the sale.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Hoffman Audi of New London, Connecticut and lists factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $52,120. Service records, two keys, and rubber floor mats accompany the car.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

Carfax is clean, the dreaded chain has been taken care of, a new transmission…what could possibly go wrong? The only thing I’m not crazy about is the interior color but I can live with that especially while listening to that 4.2 through that Milltek downpipe and MagnaFlow exhaust. This car is semi-local to me and I have been hankering for another long roof in my life…snap out of it. Please…get this before I make a rash decision. As of this writing, there are 6 days left on bidding and the it’s up to $13,000 on Bring A Trailer. You can find this B6 Moro Blue S4 Avant and more photos/videos HERE.
