What is it about wagons that have gripped enthusiasts but not the general auto-buying population? Perhaps it’s due to very lackluster wagons out there and the stigma of a mom-bus that soured prospective buyers but some companies fought back including Audi. Stuffing V8s into wagons has been around for years but Audi seem to have hit the sweet spot with the C5 S6 Avant. That fabulous 4.2 growl and taut handling still has fans to this day. This is one of those C5s. Here’s the ad:
Downsizing. Motivated Seller. All reasonable offers considered. For the car enthusiast, this is a rare, well kept 2003 Audi S6 Avant. Only available for 2 model years, with just 133 sold in 2003.
This 1 of 6 in this spec for 2003 model year imported into US. Light Silver Metallic over Silver Pearl Napa Leather with Alcantara inserts. 340 hp 4.2L V8. All mechanicals in good to excellent condition. All body panels original, except front bumper. No damage or accidents, just road rash redone by prior owner. Some superficial scratches, the leading edges of the hood and fender flares have light blemishes. I am third owner. Car was Texas, Colorado car before I brought it to east coast. 18 inch “RS 6” OEM rims. Nearly new 255/35 18 Nokian All Season Radials.
Alcantara can also be found in door cards, headliner, and pillars. Heated front and rear seats. Power front seats. These are the sport seats. Some S6s came with ‘comfort’ seats found in the A6s. (Winter and Summer Pkgs.) Driver’s seat left side bolster shows some wear but no cracking or loss of color. Always treated with leather conditioner during my ownership. On Star and RARE Solar Sunroof which keeps car cool in summer without engine on. Paddle shifters on steering wheel. All interior power options work. Instrument cluster has no failed pixels. Cupholder works too! A unique find. A true Unicorn.
Recent past service/maintenance include oil, trans, transfer case, brake fluids flushed/replaced, brake pads/rotors, tires, exhaust, A/C condensor replaced. Includes bluetooth JBL remote speaker. Bilstein Sport shocks. Window shades on rear windows and hatch. Several interior lights converted to LEDs. Rear Cargo Cover still retracts and pulls out! In better cosmetic and mechanical shape than cars with half the mileage. A real head turner. Maintained by local independent mechanic. Carpet mats (original!)and All Season mats included. Timing Belt Service including new water pump performed by prior owner. I have owned car for 4 years and have put 10K miles on it. Many service records available. Audi Club Member.
This is the second silver V8 Avant from an Audi Club member we’ve featured today- Al Neuner, winner of the Audi Club RS 6 Avant Sweepstakes, just took delivery of his 2022 Audi RS 6 Avant. Al’s has a Cognac interior; this S6 has the Silver leather with Alcantara inserts…pretty rare. With the onset of electric vehicles and the slow disappearance of monster V8 wagons, it’s not a bad idea to grab this while you can.
