Find of the Day: 2000 RS 4 Avant Imported Straight from the Motherland on Bring a Trailer

The B5 RS 4 Avant was never officially sold in the U.S. However, this Avus Silver Pearl Effect example that is now live on Bring a Trailer was imported right from Germany after spending some time in Switzerland.

About 20 years before the C8 RS 6 Avant came to the U.S., we could only sit idly by as the Europeans got to enjoy the brilliant B5 RS 4 Avant. We love the current RS 6 Avant, but we have many years of fast Audi wagon goodness to catch up on. This tastefully modified 2000 RS 4 Avant would go a long way towards forgiving Audi for taking so long to send their tastiest wagons to our shores.  

According to the auction listing this car has some modifications that make it an even tastier morsel of German delicacy. The twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine benefits from a custom tune and a set of Wagner downpipes. You can hear its song through a Stuber exhaust system. The seller claims the car is good for 400 horsepower in its current state. You control that power via a 6-speed manual transmission.

Helping to keep you on the road are a set of H&R Ultralow coilovers. RS 6-specification front brakes can be seen peaking out from behind the custom Rotiform 19-inch wheels. The original 18-inch nine-spoke RS alloy wheels and suspension components are included with the sale.

Other options on this car include xenon headlights, fog lights, heated and power-adjustable Recaro front seats finished in Onyx Valcona leather, an Audi Concert cassette stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The car shows 208K kilometers, about 129K miles.

A comprehensive set of services records are also included in the sale. Unfortunately, the beautiful 1944 SNJ-5 airplane in many of the photos is not. But we think the RS 4 Avant can stand on its own.
