Find of the Day: 1998 Audi A6 Avant in Casablanca White

photos: Steve Kujala

When I think of a white big bodied Audi from the 90s, I immediately picture Pearl White but this C4 Avant is not that…it’s Casablanca White. I admit that I am not familiar with this color at all and according to Audi of America, it’s a 1 of 10 so I wonder how many people have actually seen this shade of white in person. Here’s the ad:

Hey guys, up for sale is my 1998 Audi A6 Avant Quattro in Casablanca White (not Pearl) over Platinum interior. This car is obscenely clean, all the paint and clear is there, there is no rust under the car whatsoever. The car is powered by a 2.8L 12v V6 and is sent through an 01F 4 speed auto. Cruise works, AC blows cold, sunroof works, exhaust is quiet.

According to Audi of America, this is 1 of 10 built in this color.
Radio is equipped with Bluetooth streaming. LED 3rd brake lamp fitted.

Recent work done:
Rear brake pads and rotors
Timing belt, OEM
Water pump, Graf
New glass headlamp lenses
New front lower control arms
New front swaybar bushings

Cons:
Rear hatch does not lock with central locking, lock cylinder does however.
Front seats have tears
Left front heated seat inop
Rear hatch has a crease and rust starting in the inner pinch.
Oil leak, literally all of these engines leak.

$4k with aftermarket wheels and Packasport roof box. $3500 with stock wheels and no box.

I love the lines on these C4s…such a classic design. I don’t know if this Avant has lived its whole life in Wisconsin but I was shocked it wasn’t rusty. Several years ago, I traveled with a friend to Wisconsin for a similar vintage C4 S6 Avant and it had rust on the fenders (if I remember correctly). According to the seller, Steve, rust is starting to form on the rear hatch but it’s rust free underneath. These C4 Avants are getting harder and harder to find especially in this condition. While it may have 195k miles on the odometer, it sure doesn’t look like it. For an asking price of $4k, this is a great price for a classic Audi Avant.
