People send me Finds all the time. Sometimes I get sent multiples of the same Audi but this time, I only got the one email. As I opened the link and went through the photos, I saw one with the Q2 2022 cover of quattro Magazine and then it hit me…we featured this car in that issue. I kicked myself for not recognizing this Audi because it is a beauty. Here’s the ad:
This 1995 Audi Sport 90 Quattro was purchased by the seller in September 2016 and subsequently retrofitted with a modified 20-valve 2.2L inline-five, a BorgWarner EFR 6258 turbocharger, an 01E six-speed manual transaxle, Porsche six-piston front brake calipers, KW V1 coilovers, and a Jetex 3” exhaust system. Other reported components include a Wagner RS2 Evo exhaust manifold, 1100cc/min injectors, LS2 ignition coils, and a ProVent catch can in addition to a Euro-spec front bumper, Treser taillights, and carbon-fiber interior trim. A push-button locking rear differential, 18″ alloy wheels, heated front seats, automatic climate control, and a Bluetooth-capable Blaupunkt stereo are additional elements. This Sport 90 Quattro shows 156k miles and is now offered with a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The body was finished in Pearlescent White Clearcoat Metallic from the factory, and it was refinished in 1997. Exterior features include a metal sunroof, RS2-spec projector headlights, a European-spec front bumper from a B4 Cabriolet, and Treser taillight assemblies. The seller states the trunk lid, front bumper, and spoiler were repainted under current ownership. Blemishes are noted on the roof, rear bumper, left-side doors, right-front fender, and right A-pillar.
Said to be sourced from Audi Tradition in 2019, the 18″ wheels are installed on five-lug hubs and wrapped in 225/40 BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 A/S tires. Height-adjustable KW V1 coilovers are fitted, and the anti-lock brake system has a custom booster, Porsche six-piston calipers over 323mm rotors up front, and 300mm rotors out back.
Accented with blue-weave carbon-fiber trim, the cabin houses heated front sport seats and a split-folding rear bench upholstered in Ecru leather joined by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Appointments include a power-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, power accessories, dual USB ports, and a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB digital media receiver. A JHM stainless-steel shift knob and 034Motorsport short-shift components are also noted by the seller.
The replacement three-spoke steering wheel frames an aftermarket boost gauge flanked by S2-style instrumentation that includes a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltage are mounted in the center stack. The mechanical odometer shows 156k miles, approximately 8k of which were added by the seller.
Tuned with a VEMS engine control unit for E85 fuel and 31psi maximum boost, the turbocharged 2.2-liter AAN inline-five was sourced from a 1992 S4 according to the seller, who reports that it was modified with the following items during current ownership:
- BorgWarner EFR 6258 turbocharger
- 3B intake manifold and intercooler
- Wagner RS2 Evo exhaust manifold
- Integrated Engineering rods
- 7A camshafts
- ARP head studs
- Billet crank pulley
- LS2 ignition coils
- 1,100cc/min injectors
- Walbro 400 fuel pump with kill switch
- RS2 fan shroud and Audi 200 cooling fan
- ProVent 200 catch can
Power is sent to all four wheels through an overhauled six-speed 01E manual transaxle that is fitted with a South Bend clutch kit and mated to a Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a Torsen center differential and an AZC-code locking rear differential. Exhaust flows through a Jetex 3″ system without catalytic converters. The transmission is said to have been rebuilt with a JHM transmission rebuild kit.
The window sticker lists delivery to Prestige Imports of Lakewood, Colorado, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $32,060.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Colorado and Ohio.
