If you’re familiar with Audi rallying legend Michèle Mouton, then the strong association of women and rallying (an often male-centric space) should be no real surprise. Mouton helped put quattro on the map with her multiple WRC and Pike’s Peak wins at the wheel of a quattro. She’s an owner of Race of Champions and champions women’s place within the FIA, and has inspired countless women to take on a career in rallying or even motorsport in general. DirtFish Rally School in Snoqualmie, WA aims to pay tribute to all that this while celebrating Women’s History Month throughout March, and even more notworthy is that Michèle Mouton will take part.
Though her work with the FIA takes her around the globe, it’s rare that Mouton attends events in the USA, though that’s exactly what’s happening here. DirtFish will kick off their programming with their second Women in Motorsport Summit on March 11. Free to all, the event will feature Mouton and other guests including Pernilla Solberg, Michelle Miller, Rhianon Gelsominoand more on panel discussions. Even better, it’s free to attend and you can RSVP on their website HERE.
Throughout the rest of the month, DirtFish will run several all-women’s rally driving training events, with two of those sessions scheduled within days of the conference for those who may wish to fly in, attend the conference with Michèle, and then stay on for a few days of learning to more effectively slide sideways in the dirt.
Dates for DirtFish’s all women’s classes include:
- March 12 – One Day Rear-wheel Drive
- March 13 – Three Day All-wheel Drive
- March 19 – One Day All-wheel Drive
- Mach 26 – One Day Rear-wheel Drive
